I finally found a 37' Ford 2 door sedan that I could afford so I made a deal with the owner and bought it! The body is in pretty good shape for being here in iowa so I really couldn't pass it up. The worst part on the car would have to be the back end but everything is workable! I am going to pull the drivetrain out of my gramps 85 grand marquis so it should be able to make its way down the road just fine! I really want to make it a fenderless car but haven't been able to find alot of pics that I like so if you guys know of any please post them. Just wanted to share some pics with you guys.;)

You wont find many pics of 37s that look good fenderless. There is a ton of body fabs you have to do to make it work. The motor sets two far over the front axle to make them look good without fenders. Here is the one I did but this body is shortened 12", deck lid has 4" of the bottom of it, 4 dr doors have seven" cut of the bottom. Tail pan and rockers are made out of the front and sides of a doner 37 top. Rear wheel wells have been raised and shortened. Most of the inner structher and floor pans and chissis are all hand made and the list goes on. Its alot of work So you might want to think twice about cutting up a good body

Hey flyn, do you have any fenders? The only reason that I thought about going fenderless is because I don't want glass fenders and can't find any steels! I like your car though, thats for sure!

I think EMS sell replacement rear panels to suit. Look them up.
Please run fenders, even if you run glass ones until you find a decent set of steel that you can afford. The fat fender cars NEVER look good fender less!
Great find and have fun building it.

Your car can look very good fenderless

    IF

    you run back fenders only
consider a full hood, use the inner fender panels and maybe flat black tire hugging cycle fenders

I have to agree with ya- most '37s don't look right without fenders. But you did a helluva job on Blackie there. It's got that cool modified look to it.

the only way i think it would look good with out fenders is if you made it look like a dirt track car.
