For me life is good. The temp is up to 60+ in the shop, shop work is actually going like it should and i've got Pink Floyd (The Wall, live version) cranked up on the sterio and i've got a smile on my face.
"LIFE" is always good if you're drawing breath...I'm working on the 4th book of the series...tentatively titled "Accident, Incidents and assorted confessions," hopefully it'll be released by this spring. Tomorrow (and the weekend) it's back to work on my '55 Caddy. R-
I'm always happy when the shop is close to 60 degrees as well I'm just enjoying the day at home. Tomorrow I'll be at the shop.......
Supposed to be working. Everyone in my little town's either asleep or enjoying the season peacefully, so I'm stealing wireless internet from a friend's business and browsing around the HAMB. SHH, Don't tell the boss.
Same thing as yesterday--cruzin--just got back from a 100 miles circle in and out of town---was great NO TRAFFIC
Headin out for a cruz. Wife on the phone, kids playin video games, 50 degrees, sunny, need gas - thats the excuse for taking the car out. It always needs some reason to go out.
just hangin out here on the HAMB at home... i dont have a garage yet , so next x-mas will be a more exiting one....
Getting ready to go to work....2pm till 5pm, then back again from 8pm till 12.30am...Gotta love Public Transit. Happy Christmas folks
My wife has declared it pajama day. So nothing much so far. Calling family, smelling the good cajun cooking coming from the kitchen, watching my son download music since he finally got an MP3 player --he's 13. "Don't forget Johnny Cash," I say. "I was just looking at some of his stuff," he says. Later I'll work on my truck's hood. In the primer stages now. For now though I want to share the poem my son wrote me for Xmas. I was impressed with his talent and attention to images. So here goes, and Happy Holidays: The fruits of an automotive labor<O for my dad From the menacing grill, waiting to suck in air, <O to the pointed tail lights leaving a path of red, <O This truck, at least on the outside, is perfection. <OThe swooping of that great swept line, <O running down the spine of the truck, <Omakes it seem aerodynamic and space aged, a façade hiding the clunky industrial and dark inner workings of the engine. <O This trucks beautiful skin is betrayed only <O by the sputtering and coughing of a thirty plus year old slant six engine. <O The hyper-Texan interior is complemented by the Mexican blanket seats, and the lone star ceiling is a nice detail. <O The layered kustom hot-rod stickers on the pale dash are only interrupted by the awkward modern stereo, so out of place. <ONo cup holders or GPS devices are to be found in the cab of this dusty old relic, no not even an AC. <O The few instruments that do run this machine are all replaced; <O a weird little knob next to the steering wheel and a doohickey above the speedometer that does god knows what. <O Indeed this fine automobile must be the equivalent of George Washingtons hatchet, <Oall the parts that makes up this machine were either salvaged, customized, or bought off of E-bay.<O After many King of the Hill allusions, <O meetings with an all knowing German car geek ,<Oand a large collection of stickers on the windshield, <O My Dads truck has been modified to run on propane, <Omostly to cost less, but its cleaner too. <O Never before has there been an eco-friendly hotrod poet. <O And a good Dad at that. <O
sitting around, avoiding the snow outside. drooling over all the sweet cars on the HAMB and looking for coupe projects on egay and craigslist.
Just got done going for a beer run in the hot rod. Its almost 70 and sunny here today. It is freaking NICE out. Merry Christmas
Made new engine mounts and sorted out the exhaust layout and clearance issues around the steering box on my 51 F2 stepside (in the process of changing the old223 strt6 for a 351m). Ran out of mig wire though, so can't finish the mounts and exhausts until saturday now. Still plenty of other stuff to do. Happy hols, Hambers .

Wife had to go to work(she works at the airport) so ill have to suffer working on the roadster in the garage.
Wife at work, she is a nurse. so i am home alone. I will turn the heat on in the shop and open a cold beer and start work on a new project, a CT 70 Honda. Merry Christmas to every one
Busy battling the ridiculous twist ties that they put on every kids toy...talk about frustrating! Other than that enjoying my kids' reaction once I free one of those toys from their bondage and then eating way too much junk food and really lusting for a nap...up until 1:30 last night and the first of three little pairs of footsteps in our bedroom and 5:45...Merry Christmas to all of you fellow Hambers!
Doin' the "Discretion is the better part of Valor" bit. Plans were to go to older daughters house in North Las Vegas and celebrate Christmas there. Heck of a big winter storm warning here, Las Vegas, N/W Arizona and other places. Coulda made it this morning, but not too sure about the trip back. Should be doing like Roger and work on the re-write of the 4th book. Maybe, after I cruise the net for a bit. Went to the market, got beer, wine, chicken and stuff to make a big ol Dutch Oven full of chicken soup. Was going to do the BBQ Orange Chicken on the grill, but it's too dang windy to light er off. A little home-made wheat/rye/white bread and we'll be in good shape. The bread recipe my own invention. Good stuff it is....
Did a little work on the roadster this morning....the ol lady had to work today When she gets home we are going to her parents place for Chinese. Deck the halls with bows of harre.....Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra RA
Cruzin the HAMB. Thankful my son is home from the hospital and home with his wife and children. We almost lost him to a brain bleed. Vanderbilt Hospital was our home for 19 days. Good to be home for Christmas. I will return to work on our 37 Chevy tommorrow.God bless all. Flamed Chevy
