I have a Champ rear with all the wide 5 junk on it,can it be changed to conventional axles and lug bolt pattern?Who sells parts for them?
You don't state what type of champ you have but any style can be changed to Ford 9 inch axles and housing ends. If you have the Ford tubes try Hot Rod Works in Utah. (Google for info). If you have round tubing 2 or 3 inch you can have them converted by any machine shop with a alignment bar. Speedway Engineering in LA does a very nice job. You can use brakes from Currie or a junkyard to replace the wide 5. Axles are available from several sources or you can use pre 72 Ford F150 axles with 31 splines and and a 5 1/2 inch bolt circle. Dutchman in Portland can solve all of your problems.
I want to do the same thing to my Frankland QC it to has the wide 5's but I want to run 9in axles and backing plates. So that I can run my 16x5 ford wheels dose anybody know if I can run a Detroit locker from a 9in in my Frankland QC-80. I dont want to buy a locker if it wont work
