Does anyone know the guy that owns the car below and how I might get in touch with him?

If someone knows him, could you please refer him to this forum/thread and my e-mail is in my profile.

Reason, I am building one of these cars and would like to ask him a few questions.

    Thanks
    Mr.B

  4. Hi I have the remains of one of these that was set up to be the body on a drag car...I am also very interested in any info concerning your build...I remember the car your asking about and participated and followed behind it at rod runs in old days, I dont recall the fellows name but I beleive he was from southern minnesota someplace...neat car, was something to see those big meats dig in and spin! Please keep me in your forum..my body is a three window...Ive had this body since 1978, I have never seen a real picture of a bantam with a body like min ..maybe it was somehow contrived...would really appreciate any info..will post a picture of mine as soon as i can find it...regards Bill Bergeron MSRA #47

  5. Different car, but you may find it of interest.

Maybe you could trace him through his through his license plate number? Bantams are very cool.

The car is on the front page of the Minnesota Street Rod ***ociation. I don't know if that will help.

MN has incorporated privacy laws into the vehicle registrations and such. Its been a long time since I asked for an owners name based on a plate, but there is a good chance you will not get that info anymore.

Contact someone over at the MSRA... maybe they can find him IF they have a data base....

  10. You really don't want to get into an Austin build. I'll be glad to take it off your hands, cheap.

Hi Bill, I am new at this site but I see the request to put you in the friends deal and I will surely do that.

If you have a 3 window, it was not a "contrived" car. Infact as I understand it, it is a pretty rare car. The collectors have a name for them but I am drawing a blank on what they are called. My build has been put on slow as we have had record snowfall out here and it seems all I have been doing is moving snow to try to save my buildings

The guy with this Bantam I am asking about is fairly hard to track down. I did try to get the name through the plate but even it is not showing up in the system that a tow truck friend uses for all his impounds.

I did contact the MSRA and the webmaster got back to me and said the pictures on the webpage were sent to him along time ago and he didn't know who owned the car.

Good_ol_Boy ......do you know what year that photo is from ?

I am not stalking the guy... It is just one of my most favorite Bantams I have ever seen :D

  12. I took that photo in '07... I don't remember seeing the car there this year, but I didn't walk around the entire show.

Thanks.......that would be the latest spotting of it so far....LOL....

Bill, here is a chart of models made, notice the 3 window. The collectors call them something like a "service body" ....damn I can't remember but I will find out for you..

  14. i've been to jack's place several times and had him dip a few bodies , but it has been many years. his last name just escapes me now

i'm not surprised that anyone in charge of the MSRA now doesn't know...most of them are new guys and have their head up their *** . you need to talk to old time members..guys that joined 30+ years ago...i'm sure one of them would know. i'll ask around

After you posted his business above, I did a little internet searching for that in Savage but had no luck. Did find some interesting information on strippers however..... :D

  16. i'm sure his business is long gone....the EPA got him

ask around old members for "jack the stripper" in savage. i believe is was a Polish name , if that helps . he use to advertise in the MSRA yearbook many years ago.

It's just a bare body/fenders/doors (no frame or grill) waiting in the wings. If you still want pics, sure, I'll post some, but as I said, just a bare body.:D

The rear of the body looks worse than it is. Like a lot of cars the sheet metal was held together with wood around the back section. The wood is LONG gone, so the sheet metal is kindof just flapping in the breeze. Once I start on it, it will be solid metal and the metal just goes back into place, it just looks bad because there is no wood sub frame in it.

View from the front. If you look behid it against the wall you can barely see the back panel door againt the wall.

And all 4 fenders, some trim and **** being stored in another body

Damn, I have not been able to check my computer as much as I usually do because we are having record snowfall out here and I have been shoveling my roofs off trying to save my shops, I am up to my *** "literally" in snow

Anyway......I would LOVE to have that sedan deivery, that thing is very cool :D

Well, if FiddyFour says he saw it in 08, that is the latest spotting...:D

I see I have a PM so I will check that and a big thanks to all you guy's giving help, as I said before the only reason I am trying to contact this fellar is because I think his car is so cool :)

    OK.......here is the scoop.

First let me say thanks to all that have helped in this search :)

I got his name from a lead and did some internet work and figured out some contact information. I have made contact with his son who is presently storing the car and is going to photograpgh it for me tomorrow !!!

He will then send me the phone # to his dad as I asked if it would be possibe to talk to him as he built the car around 1975.

Those who tried to lead me to him through the "stripping" company, you were correct. They owned and operated one there for years.

The tip of his name being Jack is close, his name is John but he goes by "Jack" and most people referred to him as "Jack the stripper".

I got some of my questions answered from his son as he has been around the car most of his life and has worked on it quite a bit so he knows the car completely.

Again, thanks to all that helped :D:):D:)

I bought it off Ebay for $350 eight years (or so) ago. Was the only one who even bid on it. I even had a guy email me after I bought it asking why I would waste money on such an UGLY car. I had no idea how rare they were when I bought it. Just thought it would make a cool rod. I have ALWAYS loved the Bantams like yours. I just like the oddballs.

  26. ahhh MINNESOTA we dont remember much but we do remember cars when we see em in a group of 11 grand or more ......... ha :)
