We all probably got a shirt, tie, socks, sweater, etc. that came in a cardstock box from JC Penny, Macy's or some such store. This material is perfect for making patterns and templates in the shop. Take the biggest box you got, reinforce the corners with duct tape, and then cut the flats out of the lids and bottoms of all the other boxes, then store the flat pieces in the reinforced box in your shop. You'll always have a stash of pattern cardboard, neatly stored in a compact spot. -Brad
coke cartons ..the 24 packs...and beer cartons work great also. I cut em open and lay em flat, don't take up much room and if you screw one up makin a pattern, you don't feel bad grabbin another. Recycling. ...they make good scratch paper for notes in the shop too.
I am sure my son thinks spiral note books are all limp because I have used so many covers off of his. Gift bags have just about replaced shirt boxes.
