    RIP...

To remember her as cat woman is secondary to her music.

    I listen to her music.

The first time I heard her version of "Santa Baby" was in moms 56 Chev.
    Cool tune then and now.
Relative to Traditional Hot Rods? Yep! The timeframe and her roles intertwine.

Hell,we have motorcycle threads on here when a sister forum exists;why not traditional music and actor threads?

I saw her perform at a club called Mr. Kelly's in Chicago in 1974. No young chick even then, but she sure could belt out some good R & B. May she rest in peace, cause I am sure she has earned it by living all those years in a different kind of world than what we have to day.

  10. Yes, you sound like an asshole. The scope of this site is tightly focused but it isn't ridiculously uptight.

Eartha Kitt made us all better people.

Well perhaps Indirectly ,,The Batmobile and other cars on that show were CUSTOMS and well know ones at that. and things like the cars from television shows shaped what some built or may have even gotten them into cars.. Just like music of the time. All things are related though some distance beteeen some..we all know who she is and as kids the villains the good guys and teh cars all shaped things so. ..say something nice if you feel you want too,,and like someone said the Title of the post let ya know what was here so..

personally ,,far more interesting that a "what color should I paint my wheels thread" :D

I am sorry if I pissed all you guy's off. I have been on here for several year's and I finnaly have been flamed. To all you guy's that say factualy that I am an asshole. You dont know what your talking about. I said I might sound like one. The point all of you are missing was I asked a question ( Im just asking .maybe Im wrong Gregg) It would appear that most of you think it's fine . So be it. Funny how those of you who preach that the HAMB is such a tight knit family have no tolerance for a family member's view point that might differ from your own. Hope you dont feel that way about car's or we would all be driving car's that look the same.By the way Im not sorry for asking the question just sorry some of you where offended. There was also no dissrespect meant toward's Eartha Kit I thought she was cool as hell. She wasnt the point of my question Gregg

Santa Baby is one of my favorite's and I didn't have a face to go with the song. I listen to all the Holiday favorites from Thanksgiving to Christmas. RIP Eartha, I will remember you everytime I here the song!

same her when i told my wife of her death the first thing mentioned was santa baby.

  21. from an old buddy of mine:

"I just heard the songstress EARTHA KITT just died.

Many of you younger ones won't know who she was. Miss Kitt was very popular in the 50's and 60's and one of her most famous songs was SANTA BABY.

In either 1952 or 1953, my Dad was working in the Entertainment Business and knew Miss Kitt. When she first sang Santa Baby Dad was there and had her dedicate SANTA BABY to those in Korea.

On the record she sent me it started out with...... "Richard (his name) this is dedicated to you and all your fellow SEABEES stationed in Korea." and then she sang it. This was on 78. Long before 45's Cassett, 8 Track ect. I wonder if I still have it? I'll have to look.

    I shall never forget that."

  22. Now that's cool! This is how the lady should be remembered by the HAMB.

You know, if all the people complaining about the drama had just not posted, the drama would have stopped and this would just be another RIP thread that faded away in a day's time.

The necessary Hot Rod connection is found in the lyrics of Santa Baby; specifically, ..."54 convertible, light blue"...

    Good enough for me.
