My compresser doesnt shut down when filling up. I recently reworked my layout of tanks valves and pumps and when I go to refill the compressures keep running after 15 min

    2 - 5 gal tanks
    2- Viair 480 pumps
    145-175 lbs pressure switch.

Could the pressure switch have gone bad. Need help

Are you sure the tanks are fill? Sometimes they take longer than you think to fill up. It's a good idea to have a pressure gauge on the tank itself just to double check.

Got any leaks in the lines? Mix up a little bit of dish soap and water in a spray bottle and spray down the fittings. If you see bubbles then you've got a leak.

I'd check for leaks and put the pressure gauge in the tank just to be sure.

make sure your not leaking as much air as your trying to get in the bags.i have two viair pumps and it takes a long time to shut off.i sometimes hook it up with an air chuck to asist the first filling, then when your driving it can keep up as long as you dont get crazy on switches

  6. I put a 3gal. tank on my son's car with a 100psi switch. Unless you are one of those guys who is ALWAYS fuckin with the bags, you don't need 5gal tanks. Remember it takes longer to fill a 5gal tank, with a higher psi switch. If you change to 100 of even 120psi swithes,it will take less time to fill.

Checked for leaks and all good. Just get a little nervous when pumps just keep going will try again in morning. But I would think after 20 min it would be full, maybe not

Had same problem a couple of times with mine. First time I had a spec of dirt in the selonoid valve for the rear bags, and the rear would not stop filling. The second time my preasure switch failed.
