Gots me a 47 dodge coupe just like the one named in the ***le. I need body mounts, so I got the steele rubber catalog. Now I don't know what and how many things to get. The car has nothing in place to give me a clue. Before I go and order stuff I don't need, any ideas? FYI steele rubber customer service is not any help. Tanks a ton
Does it make sense that the company that makes specific application body mounts doesn't know how many and where they are placed? It sure doesn't to me.
It irritates me that so many in this business have no idea how to present and sell parts. SImple information is all it takes and here you are, a customer with money and a need for parts, and there they are, a company with parts and no idea what to sell you! Get my drift?
I have the 46-48 parts book, here are the insulators with original part no. insulator 23-05-10 /5 pairs upper mount has a donut with rubber sleeve attached-lower mount just the donut. insulator 23-05-10/ 2 pairs just the donuts. insulator 13-48-4 /1 pair thicker donuts. shim 23-05-33 /3 singles. hope this can get you started, I highly recommend registering on P-15 D-24, lots more info than you ever could imagine and a buncha good people.
Funny..I called steele for mounts and they were incredibly helpful. I had my mounts revulced and they came out great.
