Where were we. Oh yeah closing in on Utah. We were definitely pulling some long days. By the time we got into the mountains everybody's fuel economy dropped by at least 20%, some by as much as 50.

But by the end fourth day this happened.

There's salt in the background and Jared is ****ing stoked!

Anyone that says anything gets any cooler than this has nothing in common with me.

    More later.

These are some great guys and they have some kick*** cars. It was great to meet them on their way home. Even if it was because of Jareds roadster being BROKE:( in East Podunk ( Byers ),Colorado.

A lot of guys have said this thread is inspiring them to do the same trip. I have to say if you have the means to you should make every effort to do it. Ive gone cross country more than once and this trip was one of the best I've ever been on. The next time we do it though I think we're going to do a HAMB relay campout, where we leapforg from one unsuspecting back yard to the next, all the way to Utah!

Well that doesn't help me get through the New England winter, but it sure helps me with this Minnesota winter that I'm stuck in.

Well we had arrived and the salt was better than it had been in years (so I'm told). We took a few shots to do***ent the moment and then went to watch the racing.

    Simard's cahhr

There were a bunch of east coasters out there, including Dave Simard. If I remember right he went 139 mph in the above roadster, that is before he blew up the three speed toploader that he was running. When asked to elaborate he said "You know in the shop I had a nice built up muncie and all the adapters and stuff to use it but at the last minute I looked over on the shelf and saw that toploader and said ahh I like using that old ****". Well that old **** didn't like to be power shifted into second. Anyways they managed to make a bunch of runs before that happened. This dude is ******** he had room at the nugget but decided to sleep on the ramp of his trailer everynight so he could party at the end of the road campground instead, my hero.

Great pics. You captured the thrill of adventure of a long run in a Hot Rod.
The sleeping bag on the side of the road gives it drive til you drop Easy Rider feel.

  29. Very cool you guys made the trek! I talked to you guys on Tharsday and shot some pictures of the cars. It humbles me that you guys mad the effort to come as i only have 95 mile to get there. I drive fast on the highway so the trip flew by. Still a good time no matter how far you come.
