I had no problem doing my bare metal fenderwells. Looked pretty tough too.

POR-15 needs a surface with "tooth" to adhere properly. If you are working with new metal either sand blast or use their metal prep to give it an etch. Rust is a natural etch that's why it sticks so well to rusty metal.

  7. I used the POR 15 silver color, looked great till it sat in the hot Texas sun for a day, then it turned a rather nice greenish tint, there is no UV protection so it will fade or change colors on you:eek:

on new metal us a degreaser and then a metal prep and it will be fine.....If it is going to be exposed to uv rays[sunlight] it needs a top coat.....pors makes one that they call chassie black ....either in gloss or satin finish...

Yes it's true. If you take the time to read the instructions it says so there. It will not even stick to cured POR 15!

Now, if you etch the bare metal, sand the paint, ect it will stick fine. It need some tooth to stick.

Now that's funny! :) I've ran out of rubber gloves while using it and you're right.

I dont even think you have to go down to bare metal if you dont desire, we just wanted to get rid of the undercoating on the frame. On other applications we have just knocked the loose rust off and painted and it looks just as good.

wore it on my face for two weeks after painting undercarriage of my 30A with it. Do not cut it with thinner even though they tell you you can. Works the best full strength. ABSOLUTE must to blast or rough up [ degrease also ] clean metal surface or shit will peel offf in sheets. As other's have instructed you......why not just use 26.00 per gallon Blitz Black paint from tractor supply ? ? good stuff and cheaper.

POR 15 sucks when you try and sand it or remove it later..my 2 cents whataiknowfuckit
