Don't get me wrong, I still love my Mazdas and wouldn't trade mine for the world...I just need some diversity...lol
I've been working on old trucks with my dad since I could walk and I'd like to do this project with him as much as possible. I don't know A LOT about cars/trucks but I don't mind getting dirty and learning.

I have a pretty good idea of what I want but so far I only have an engine (a Ford 400m big block) So I guess I'm looking for a 30-50s model 1/2 ton Ford. I would really prefer a Chevy, but the engine only has about 57k on it so I'd like to use it.

Oh, and I added a pic of me with my daughter, Rhyan, and some bigger pics of my tattoo. I don't have any others yet (still need to finish this one, just haven't had the time)

Now for why were all here, BAD-ASS-RIDES! You can call them what ever you want, but look out for Ryan, he likes to lay down the law once in a while!

I've built a hopped-up Honda over ten years ago and all I've done to it since then is oil, tires, and gas. Today, it still runs flat out all day long until it needs gas. Going down the interstate at 90+ mph at 3,000 rpm in 5th gear, it's getting better than 34 mpg. It's one of the best cars I've ever owned and one of the funnist.

A couple of years ago, I decided to get back to my roots, and to give the big three a helping hand, and build a Hot Rod ('27 open wheel roadster). Don't tell anyone, but the power plant is a Alfa Romeo 4-banger!

All you guys crack me up. There are about a 100 guys who have posted introductions here with ZERO responses - no welcome, no hello how are you, no kiss my ass. When you see a girl post, tongues start wagg'n and Rat Rods arn't that bad......Not sure why it does, it just cracks me up.

That 400m would be a great hot rod engine. I helped my brother fix one in his F250 4x4. We put a 4bbl intake and headers on it with a mild cam and it would ROAST the big off road tires! You don't see alot of those in the hot rod circles so it will make your truck even more unique.
I would snag a 48-54 Chevy truck. There are still alot of those around and it would be cool to see a Chevy with a Ford engine!

You know... usually people tell me its cool a kid my age (16) is getting into hotrods and old cars, but it's just as cool for women to get into the life.... wish I could get my sister into hotrods with me, still have time but it's gunna be damn hard. Anyway, welcome!!!!

And yes.... women do seem to get more responses.... and fast!

 

This got me thinking, is there a group or website dedicated to the damnation of the term rat rod? It irritates me not unlike the term 'whole-nother'. Irritating.

Oh, and I have also been slapped around for using the term 'tatt(s)' Apparently, 'ink' or 'work' is more appropriate since you don't call your country a... well you get the idea.
