George, actually a 4 door wouldn't do anything for my present '56. And the new '56 needs more than I want to do. I was going to loot parts from it for my Olds powered roadster project and sell the rest but I've been convinced to keep it as a whole K code stick car. Well, not exactly keep it, but not part it out until I gave someone a chance to save it. And that's what I'm going to do. As far as the delete stuff goes, I think companies bought 2 door sedans like this for their traveling salesmen. They usually were striped down models with big V-8s so they could cover big teritories. That's what we called them in high school, because the car lots usually had them. They usually had real high mileage and often had repairs from major wrecks. But I think this was a cheapskates car. I looks like it was pretty low mileage when parked. I live in the suburbs and parking is at a premium so I don't have any way to keep this for long, but it was heading for the crusher and I didn't want that to happen. P
if you do part it out,and it does have the heater delete i would be interested in that little ******.i should have bought the nos one when i had the chance.they look like the stock ones except no holes.heater was an option so was defrost.im killing all my options i dont know why.it will still be a preety boy super with all the trim. eric
This car is at my house now. It's rustier than I first thought but it does have a lot of good parts. Many folks said I should offer it as a together car and I will for 3 weeks. It's a stick shift 2 door sedan. Rare in an 88, usually highway patrol cars. If I had more time, money and storage I'd make a '56 Daytona style racer out of it. I think Lee Petty ran one in '56. So anyhoot, there it is. I keep looking at the instructions to post the pix I took but it makes my head hurt and causes me to doubt my grasp of my computer Sigh. If you PM me, I'll send pix. I have around $1000 in it and I'd like $1400. The dash is real nice, the headlight rings aren't pitted, the curved gl*** is OK, the hood rocket is pretty nice. I changed the subject line so I think I understand the new rules. Thanx. CP
Post that thing on the for sale forum at oldsclub.org and also the ads at hmn.com Don't be afraid to try oldsmobile1958.com either. Also try the SoCal chapter of the OCA, or the National Antique Oldsmobile Club, or the website for the NorCal chapter of the OCA. Maybe even find a site for vintage circle track cars to see if there is a national interest in cloning old historic circle cars. Don't rely on a HAMB ad to sell it, HAMBr's don't seem to follow through much of the time. So don't be one of the lazy HAMBR's, go find that ****er a good home. It'll be a LOT less trouble than parting it out, TRUST ME TRUST ME TRUUUUUST MEEEEE, even if you only break even. And it might take you a couple years to make a grand off of parting it out. I speak from experience... Besides, I'd hate to see the car get parted out if it really would make a great clone of a historic Olds race car. I know a bare-bones post car would not be common these days for an Olds. --Nate (Blownolds)
