    Hey everybody.
I've been thinking of getting the chevy a bit lower. I have 3" rear blocks, but nothing done on the front. I would like to get it lower, and plan on airbag installation in 6 months or so. I would like to get it lower for now, without being too spendy. Is there an advantage to getting mono leaf rear springs? If so who sells them? I've seen a poncho that had the original rear spring de-arched and possibly reversed. Is this practical? I have the original closed driveline. If I go lower, will the driveline be affected? Down the road, should I look into an S-10 trans swap to have the open driveline? How difficult is this?
Does anyone have airbag pics? I've seen 2 setups. One retained the rear leafs, with the bag mounted on the spring. The other looked a bit more involved, and had bags mounted above rear end to mounting bracket. I eventually plan on notching the rear and relocating the gas tank for maximum lowness.
As for the front, for now I was going to cut some coils out. Eventually drop spindles and bags will fit in the picture.
I am looking for any help/suggestions with this before I dig in. Thanks in advance.

I would just wait and do all this when you do the airbags. Maybe dropped front spindles for now, because that will lower it and you can use them with the bags.

cutting coils is fine, just don't get to excited- the front ends get real low, real quick- i would start with 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 coils and see how it sits

I gotta agree with xadamx on the dropped spindles for the front. Fatman makes a good set.

As for the rear, I'd leave it alone if it was only 6 months till airbags. Outside of lowering blocks, it gets to be a lot of work for only a short time to be on the road.

If you go much lower in the rear without notching the frame you are going to run into axle clearance issues anyways.

I've got a 53..on mine, it's dropped spindles in the front.....took out some leafs in the back with air shocks so i can get up my drive way...nothing expensive..just Monroe Air Handlers. C notch the frame though...or it's gonna hurt going down the road.
