Markus what ever happen to Mike? He was a super guy and in 72 helped me out with a motor for my wagon. John Mackey
JRstk55 The orange car was as competitive as the purple but things were changing with Chrysler. Frank eventually moved to Virginia, but I heard about 5 years ago that he was back in NJ and was going to build a car for his son. Have heard or seen nothing since. I would really enjoy getting together with Frank and Tom. Before the move to Virginia Frank had a huge 4 bay shell station in Pompton Lakes. Anybody else have an idea as to their whereabouts? Dominick Rinaldi
Jackee, Steve Seaman was my driver until the split in '71. I breifly drove it for the Summernationals and a couple of weekends at Island and then Vinnie Mayer took over. For those that remember Vinnie he was the track starter at Englishtown and was involved with Supinski's {I think }'55 sedan delivery as a sometimes driver and with the "TOMAHAWKER" of John Mason as driver. He was driving pontiac when I approached him about driving the IT'S DYNAMITE wagon. Dominick Rinaldi

And for 'simplicity,' only the 'make' is shown -- I.E. a 'Ford' might be a Mustang ... a 'Chev' might be a Corvette. And body styles and models *Wagon, Hardtop, Two-Door Post, Belair, Belvedere, Biscayne, Savoy, 210, LTD, 150, etc. are not indicated. 'Methinks' that level of detail would really open up a can of worms! But, that being said, if you'd like to take a shot at delineating the makes, body styles, and models ... feel free to cut 'n paste 'The List,' add the details, and repost it! And, to you ('very-welcome!) new 'Junior Stock Thread' members, please feel free to 'nominate' other racers. This is not ONLY a list of the 'Super Stars' of the NHRA Junior Stock era. Anyone who had a bona fide 'NOT-driven-to-the-track,' dedicated race car that was a part of the NHRA Junior Stock community from 1962 to 1971 qualifies! Alas ... It seems to me that we're about eight hundred and forty seven names short!
Hi all! Nice to be here and see some people I know, if only through emails and other forums (John Mackey, Jackee Allen, etc.) These gentlemen have been mentioned in this thread, but should also be included in the Junior Stock list: Carl Bennett (67 Chevrolet) Ron Sirianni (64 Chevrolet) Jon Swoope (57 Chevrolet) All had National Record holder cars. Thnaks for the consideration! Chris Golda
Chris, I was back east last week and got to spend some time with Carl and Marjon. Sounds like Carl is getting back into racing, they told me about their trip to Indy and that they are going to the Gators. He also told me about the racers monthly lunch, Bernie, Jerry, Tommy, Ronnie and others. They could write a book with all their stories.
Thanks Steve! Here is a photo I took at the 2007 York US 30 Reunion: (Thanks to Kevin B. for providing the UNBELIEVABLE Truppi-Kling (TK) display that serves as the setting for this photo!) L to R: Ron Sirianni, the late Paul Mayo, Bernie Agaman, Carl Bennett, Jerry Stinner, Tom Larson
John, Yes, Carl told me about your visit; sorry we didn't have a chance to meet in person! Oh, the stories I have HEARD probably pale in comparison to what you lived! Chris Golda
Hey John - I haven't spoken with Mike for years...It would be nice to reunion. After the 1972 NHRA rules shake up Mike re-built for SS and put in a Ripes Glide...on the first March time trial the car ran a good tenth under the SS/OA record! Then it was all down hill...couldn't duplicate it...went to SS/O and the thrashing continued...(as did for so many others) finally Mike sold the whole rig and that was the name of that tune. We both kinda went our own ways. I remember the exact conversation with you guys and Mike at E-town regarding Mike building a short block or engine for your Chevelle wagon. Mike was a great easy going guy and a clever racer and machinist. We had a blast at local tracks, points meets & Nat'l events....even won two rounds in stock elem.at the Gainsville Sp. Nats. after qualifying 30th.
Ya, Norm and I have talked about going for a few years now and now that I'm retired I got no reason not to go. I just hope Darwin find additional sponsorship.
Speaking of Iaconio, another shot of the Callahan and Sulc "Villian" with Iaconio driving. (Photo is from Bill Rolik's mopar page.)

Thanks for posting the Videos Reed, sure beats watching the inane 'nev-veeer mind' shows on the *BoobTube. *American slang (circa 1980) for television, the new opiate of the people. A electronic box containing a video screen and a speaker, watched by millions of cretins too lazy to go out and get a life. Boob tube watchers get a bad case of half-closed eyes and half-open mouths.
More Witchcraft trivia. We had Charlie Hampp Sr. join us for dinner on New Years day. We were talking about the "old days" and he mentioned that Charlie Jr. wanted to paint the car orange, but could not think of a name. Charlie Sr. had been in the Air Force and was a nose gunner in a B-24 while stationed in England. He remembered one of that planes that was named "Witchcraft" and thought it would be appropriate for the car. Oddly enough, Witchcraft is one of only two B-24 still flying and visited our airport back in Oct.
Yea Tom, I'll second Bob's comment. Fine composition and clarity -- one of the better images posted here to date. And Tom, even if it's most-likely been previously posted, this might be an opportune time to chronicle a bit of Witchcraft's achievements and performance high points.
$3,500.00 in 1970 had about the same buying power as $19,544.44 in 2008. Annual inflation over this period was about 4.63%. From--> http://www.dollartimes.com/calculators/inflation.htm
Thanks for the pics of the Trick Tank. Unfortunately, this Joe Kenney met his demise in a plane crash in 1980, along with S/SS racer Ralph Feola. The Chevy belongs to a different Joe Kenney
Thanks for the compliment. I'll accept for the B-24, but the shot of the car is about the only I have posted that was not taken by me. I was still in the employ of the U.S. Army when this was taken and was nowhere near York or home. I bought the car from a used car dealer in Aug. of 1965 and got drafted in Sept. The car sat until I sold it to the Hampp's in the spring of 1966. The next two years I was in Ethiopia and didn't get to see the car again until the US Nationals in 1969. I have asked Charlie Jr. to fill in the lost years for me and I'll post the info after I hear from him. I am sure that relying on my memory would produce too many errors.
You are RIGHT! The '210' was 'kinda rare.' ---> 1957 Chevrolet Production 1957 Chev - 210 Sport Hardtop Sedan 16,178 1957 Chev - Bel Air Sport Hardtop Sedan 137,672 *From http://www.oldride.com/library/1957_chevrolet_bel_air.html
Thanks for the welcome! I'm still lovin' drag racing and the good old days. They were the best there will ever be, no doubt. Glad I had 'my time' in racng, when I did.
