I am wiring my lights and was hoping someone could help me with the wiring colors. On my headlights I have a green wire, orange wire, and a brown wire, the colors are faded but I am pretty sure thats the colors. Anyone know which is which?
    Thanks in advance.

If you are running the wires into a standard three socket connector, then it's usually black for the ground and red is low beam, but if the colors don't match up, or you are piecing something together from scratch, then I suggest you do the following. (This ***umes that the rest of the wiring is already intact).

One wire will be the ground. Take a multimeter or OHM meter and ground one to the ch***is, or engine ground. Make sure that neither headlight is connected to the harness. One or the wires will show zero ohms, or continuity. The other two will most likely be an open circuit. Now for high versus low beams, it really depends on how old the car is. If it's old enough, you can pick one and call it the low beam. Just make sure that you choose the same wire for both sides! The older cars (pre 65-ish) run a common power wire into the dimmer switch, and the switch doesn't care which line runs to high beam and which line runs into low beam. Then the third wire becomes your high beam.

The headlight (if you are running a modern sealed beam-type) will have three posts. Just look online for a diagram to figure out which is ground, low beam and high beam. Speedway motors has it on their website, and I am sure there is about a hundred copies of it here too.

In any case, knowing more about what you are trying to do will help, so please provide more detail to the group and I am sure you will get more than a few additional suggestions.

Traditional plugs: green = high beam, orange = low beam, brown = park light
