:p Get your minds outta the gutter....their ARTWORK made it into my bedroom.:D

I just got the original painting that I picked up from LowCab at the Lonestar RoundUp back from the framer. I chose a mat and frame that I thought was fitting to the painting. Normally I go alittle more contemporary in my mat and frame choice but I thought this painting would be better suited to something alittle more "traditional" looking. I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out so I gave it the prominent spot in my bedroom.

I've had this headboard designed in my head for a couple of years now but just about a month ago I finally collected the last of the vintage Michigan license plates I needed to complete the project. Some of you guys know about my license plate fedish.:D

At first I was just going to screw the license plates to a piece of plywood then just attach the plywood to my bed. Scott said it would be too wobblely and offered to make an angle iron frame for the plywood and then we decided to attach it to the wall instead of the bed cuz of it's weight. I agreed since I really didn't want it falling on my head in the middle of the night.:D

Here it is with all the pillows not in the way.

On the other wall over the bed is my Alan Johnson signed and numbered print that I had matted and framed awhile ago and has been hanging in the living room but because I LOVE it so much I decided I wanted it in my bedroom.

Across from my bed is a chest of drawers and so I thought I'd place one of my other favorites, also with a salt flat theme, over it. It's a Jigger original that I won at the HAMB Drags auction a couple of years ago. I had it framed and matted awhile ago and it's been hanging in my kitchen till now. Suits my bedroom better and since it is also one of my favorites, it needed to be where I'd see it alot.;)

I also placed a couple of my 50Dodge4x4 desk top art pieces there to help complete the "theme". These are two of my favorites from the collection of his stuff that I have.

I have a couple more of Gene's art pieces on top of the jewelry "box" on my dresser.

Also, I got another piece back from the framer last week as well. I've had this Surf Monkey sign and numbered print for some time now but just recently decided what colors I wanted to it in.....of course I stuck to my favorite, black and red. I've hung it in the hall with a spot light on it. Looks fantastic.

I've got a few more pieces I need to get matted and framed BUT I'm running outta walls!:D

Only cuz I like you...alot...are you getting away with these :p:D

I'm certainly not one of those that are afraid of color on the walls.:D

The two "vintage" '70's mirrors that were in the room till recently are now in the garage waiting to be listed on Craiglist....one even had etched roses on it ;)

Nope, main bathroom was done recently with weathered walls and a surf shack/beach/woodie wagon theme.:D....and I have a full size surfboard in mine as well ;)

  11. Well I guess that you had to paint the walls red to match your jewelry box.
Getting my entry ready for the round-up-me and the boss will be there and you will see the one that has put up with me and my BS for 45 years.

I am glad you like the painting enough to put it in such a fine spot. I'm also glad it did not wind up being placed over the toilet. I always worry about that one. I rarely get to see where my paintings wind up. Also I feel I need to still apologise for having such a lousy frame on it when you bought it. I'm glad you reframed it because it needed it, and the painting looks much happier.
I hope to see you again at the Roundup this year.

If you come to lonestar roundup this year(or any show I am at for that matter) I volunteer to shoot a big fancy print of your own car for your wall(even though I am sure you have taken hundreds of it already)

Bernie, if I lived closer I'd certainly help you out with the matting and framing aspect of your business,;) but since I'm an airplane ride away I'll just settle for you keeping the frames from the paintings and me picking out ones I like better.:D

I will see you early on the Friday of the Roundup to purchase my next one.......I get first dibs right?;):D xoxox

Your bedroom?!?!?!?? I only made it onto your countertop, then the kitchen table, and then again on the couch. I guess I'm not "bedroom" status. :D

Good thing I wasn't drinking anything as I scrolled down the page...

Note to self: NO Oldsmobile paintings at the roundup.

Just saying 'yes' is an understatement. If Chip Foose, Billy Gibbons, Martha Stewart and Camie Edelbrock all got together to work on it they couldn't do cooler job of interior decorating than Denise did with her house.

There's enough cool hard core arts, trinkets and ideas to keep any ******** car person going for a long time and juuusssst enough soft girlie stuff in the mix to let you know that a lady is running the show.

Its sweet.......just my opinion, of course

Can't believe I missed this. I guess that's what a vacation will do to a person.
Not too sure how the wife will respond to the thread ***le either but I am absolutely sure
of one thing... I am completely humbled by your graciousness and kind words.

As far as the bedroom theme? Denise,... you're such a girl.

Well, we'll have to correct that the next time you're here.:D
IF you take you coat off next time you can follow me to the guest coat rack (my bed) and check out the room in person.;)

Thanks for the kudos sweetie

Nothing but the truth bud! Thanks for making m

Actually it's was going to be a surprise but..... I place a Weezner piece that I just got back from the framer above "your" bed in "your" room. I thought it might give you sweet dreams during your visits.:D
