the only rule u might consider is how other members get in after the base members are set. u don't want ur buddies to be drunk and just let anyone in during a drunkin evening.
It's all a matter of preference. Club or no club, it's about gathering and enjoying. A local club that puts on bi-weekly cruises called it off once because of the threat of rain. A bunch of us gathered at a parking lot we knew would be no problem. Next thing you know, we were noticed and others came in to build the ranks. I organized a van club back in the 70's, and it went well till the fad wore off. Being an organized group worked well and had it's advantages as we sponsored very large and successful event that was well attended and got a lot of good TV and media coverage for a worthy cause. So it all depends on what you want to accomplish. Don't kill me for this, but when I was too small to do anything about it, my mother drug us to Sunday school where we were told to "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" Seems to be the only rule that's needed. Cool?

Years ago there was a club in Boise that was called the 'UnClub". It was a branch off of a California club with the same name. We considered it the Idaho chapter. They only had a couple rules in their by-laws. 1. No rules 2. If you are going out for ice cream, forget rule one and you were to invite a member along.

There's a bunch called the So What? club that kicks back and kicks butt in the activities at the big Cumberland MD. event every fall. Cool and crazy bunch. The name fits well.
