WHATD YA GET FINISHED THIS WEEKEND?

well it's officially monday and I'll be the one to ask this week.

I myself got workin on tearin my 348 and at this moment it's in a short block state. I'm supposed to pick up a set of heads for it tomorrow and am prob gonna sell these and the intake (gonna post em in the classifieds when/if i do)The heads I took off were the super low compression truck heads (like 7.5:1 PERFECT FOR A BLOWER [IMG]) and the intake is a single 4 bbl. But when i was puttin the motor on the stand from the hoist it tipped over backwards and all the fluids dripped all over the garage floor but all in all it was pretty productive for only workin 3 hours.

I swapped the 3.73 geared rear end in my shop truck out for a 3.08 one.

The big block breathes much easier on the freeway now.

  7. Nothing, but I did stop in to my uncles and saw this crazy 70's custom corvette.

It is a 1969 stingray with factory deleted convertible that came with a removable hardtop. It is a factory side pipe car that was bought origionally by an anhieser bush exec and painted white with an A on the hardtop for parades. It sat around after being paraded for some years until around 75.

It then got some crazy paint job, the set of big assed tires and thrush side pipes. The rear spring was swapped for a larger one to accomidate the tires. It rides like a hard tail.

My uncle rescued it for the origional owners wife from a house in virginia. He took it home and had it running in about an hour. It had been sitting since around 1995. The origional motor was swapped for something horrible so it is getting a new motor. The thing is thrashed but saveable.

If I had been there a week earlier I probably could have bought it for about $2k. It is probably a good thing I didnt because I would have put a FAT 70's paint job on it and pimped it out. My uncle is going to restore it as best as possible. I couldnt get any more pix cause my phone died but here is one.

Got the new rearend in the truck, now got 3.08s instead of 4.56s. Got the 4-speed in, new u-joints, plumbed the brakes. Lowered it about 2 1/2 inches. Gonna go over the front brakes tonight and put the bed back on. And fix the gas gauge. Should be ready for the drags. Gonna leave Thursday morning.... My fingers are crossed....

I removed the spaghetti like wire harness from under my dash then reran most of the wires and removed the ones I didn't need....The amazing part of all this is I did it in my driveway with the door closed while it was pouring rain! I can finally see my fuse box...

Got a couple of old aluminum intakes (an old "why-and" 2x4, and a Holley 4bbl I cant identify) glass beaded and cleaned up, and clear coated.

Drove the car up to the Sonic Friday night, it was sooo crowded there was nowhere to park, so went home (before the car overheated).

Went to the Super Chevy Show / Races at Bandimere.

I chopped about a 14" section out of my tranny crossmember, then fab'd a rectangular tubing section to bolt back in. Gettin' it ready to pull the TH350 and replace it with a Muncie 4 speed! [IMG]

Didn't get it all done though. Hopefully I'll have it all buttoned back up and on the road tonite. [IMG] Had to drive Mrs. Slide's Explorer to work today...

Went to SOnic friday night. Waited and waited for the rest of the club. Found out why they were late and ended up going and gettting my truck and tools to replace some tranny lines on the side of the road. Saturday did front brakes on a 64 Galaxy, drank to much in the heat and went to bed with a serious headache. Sunday I reliquified myself and spent all day tattooing and bunch of dykes.

Saturday: Got the rear main fixed in my shoebox. Engine builder fucked it all to hell and it leaked like a bitch.

Sunday: Reinstalled my C4 behind the flathead and took some pics for a Tech Post sometime soon. I have been having serious problems with adapters and transmission issues since day one with this trans. This is install number 5 or 6, lost count. Anyway, got everything put back together and guess what? Trans is still jacked up.

So, I have this for gears now. L1-L1-L1-N-R. Yea, backwards, no L2 or L3 or Park. This is getting seriously old with this trans. . . .
