1962 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88...any Bellflower pics?

I have searched before...just wondering if anyone has done a '62 Olds in a "lowrider" or custom theme. I really like my '62 Dynamic 88, and my blog preaches that I should keep it stock. But these yearnings for a lowered, slightly custom '62 GM full size with the cool "covertible" hardtop are starting to fill my brain.

The Rodders Journal had the last issue show those neat Impalas, etc. that "blurr the lines between custom and lowrider." It is very cool stuff, and makes me want to go buy a set of Astro's immediately!

If you guys have some photos to get my juices going for this new fronteer, especially an Olds, let me know. I have yet to see a '62 Olds with Astro Supremes or lowered. Thanks for any help!

I am a stickler to stock appearing cars, and claim to be a traditional hot rod fan only. But I also have a lot to learn...plus, making a Bellflower-style custom requires traditional and accurate modifications in order for it to count as legitimate, right?!;):)

thats what i'm hoping to accomplish with my car, there is a picture floating around here of a red one thats done up pretty nice.

My car was lowered about 3", i found a set of supremes that may fit (fingers crossed) if not i may go with some early caddy wires.

In '62 there was no difference. The lowrider was the guy who drove the lowered custom car.

I like that answer...puts my weak ideas into perspective. Anyone out there with some pictures?

I'm currently working on something like that, it's a 62 Olds Dynamic88 ragtop. I lowered it about 3 1/2 inches in the rear and 3 in the front and as soon as I decide who to order some Supremes from that's what it will be wearing, I'm thinking a 5/8" white wall. Other than that the plan is to shave the handles and emblems, keep it simple. It's still pretty rough but hope it gives you an idea.

Thanks people. These are excellent examples. That convert is awesome, will be truly outstanding. And the Starfire has Astro's, which I have been wanting to see on my '62 88. Looking GOOD!

How about Bo Huff built, Alan Mayes 61 Pontiac? Almost the same GM product. Plenty of pictures in Old Skool Rodz and on the internet.

61-64 Olds "bellflowers" look beautiful to me. I plan on dropping my 64 Dynamic 88 convert about 2 inches or so,shaving the doors, and running pipes like the one pictured above. Nice pics btw.

Thanks for showing that one. I like the idea of plain chrome steel wheels lately.
