Here is a ch***is Clark and I built out of 2x4 and 2x5 with the x-member and front cross member made out of 3/16. We built a jig to curve the rails to fit the body.

I love frames & ch***is, they make me feel warm. sometimes I think it's a shame to cover them w/a body.

Here are some s***y ch***is shots of CheaterKory's model t roadster frame.
We used 2 x 4 Square Tube w/Model A front Frame horns & a Model A rear cross member. We copied a Dagel X-member & made our own. It turned out nice. The car goes down the road like, nice & straight.

Dumb question: How are you guys curving that 2x4 square tubing? I can figure out how to put a bend in it (notch, bend, weld), but how the heck to you get a flowing curve?

This is my frame, but can't claim construction credit. 2x4 side rails with 1x2 mid members and repro model A crossmembers. The side rails bends are the result of a lot of saw and TIG time, and tapered up front to around 2x2. She's sturdy but a little street roddy for some tastes. Should make for a real solid and predictable car though.

I don't have any good pictures, but I made mine out of used 2x5 pallet rack crossmembers. About .080 -.090 wall thickness. Not on the road yet so it hasn't been proven, but seems very sturdy.

Here is some shots of my tube frame for a 1927 T.
I have used 1 1/4" Boiler tubing with 1/8" wall thickness. Front end is tortion bars onto a 46 front axle. Rear is 46 truck to get a quick change centre on final ***embly. All body panels hand fabbed in steel, except cowl and sides.

Here is my home made frame. It's built from 1.5 by 3 by 1/8 inch box tubing. It still isn't quite finished, I plan on adding a couple of cross members that include drive shaft loops. The suspension is transverse leaf in the front and parallel in the back.

35 Ford frame... original side rails with .120 wall round tubing backbone. I didn't make the frame, just the IRS.
