1953 belair vin question

    I need to find the Vin# that is stamped on the frame of my 53 chevy belair 2 door HT.

    Anyone know where it might be located? Thanks, Randy

    i dont know if they ARE stamped on the frame... plate on the door and firewall, but frame? i dunno. prolly be somewhere along the drivers side outside of the rail, front of the firewall?

    in az they used the engine number as the VIN, at least on my 53.

    My 54 hardtop had a vin plate on the driver windshield post under the trim.

    here too but the engine was gone years ago...

    Mine was on the "A" pillar and passenger side firewall.
    Got any pics of your ride you could post, color looks similiar to mine?

    I found a legit company here on the HAMB that will do it but they want to see the # on the frame or engine. the engine is long gone but the frame is stock so i will go after that. what a pain in the ass!

    theracedude its not hard at all all you need is flashlight mirror and a can of carb cleaner.
