I had heard mixed things as well but I've used Centex Plating a half dozen times in the last year and never had a problem. They chromed some motorcycle parts and some stuff for my Jeep that came out great. I'm gathering things together right now to send them another batch.

 

I've had good luck with Advanced Chrome Connection (I think that's the name) in Fort Worth. Some friends have said they really like Houston Speed & Sport. Superior Chrome used to do pretty good work and was a little cheaper than most other shops. I haven't used them lately though.

ive been usen advanced chrome also, for some years and all my ol stuff still looks good.

 

Economy is ok for something that dosen't need to be perfect. If that makes since?

I think Show&Go/Strokers/Dirty Joes went toes up a while back.

 

I've used Speed & Sport in Houston several times with great results. They've always met the timeline we talked about, and can do rush work for a percentage above the original quote.

 

Tis place is way to HIGH !!!!!! 1 40 ford wheel $250.00 .

 

I'll go aong here. I had some stuff done there and it came back with grind marks still in it.

 

I used Houston Speed & Sport many, many years ago for XKE; spent about 6 grand for all of it. Overall, a good job and it has held up, though I generally think they are a bit high (or I am just cheap). I can only imagine what it must cost for environmental permits these days. Take photos of EVERYTHING before submitting for plating!

 

I worked in the Texas Insturments plating shop in the '70's. The newly formed EPA was all over us like stink! I can't imagine what it must be like almost fourty years later.

I walked into Speed and Sports front door and the guy at the front desk let me know real quick i would spend more in his shop rather than anywhere else.I walked out the door and went a few blocks down the road to Auto Chrome and have great results for a fair price....My two cents

 

Look up tri city plating in Tenn. I belive Johnson City. They Did my 71 olds convt. bumpers and did a great job. They guarantee them as long as you own the car. I belive they were around 750.00 for the pair. I don't think you will be un happy with there work

I've been using Eagle Plating in Jacksonville,TX Nice stuff at fair prices. I have had several things done and they come back like you ask. ie. I don't care what it looks like just nickle plate it, to I want it show chrome. Always in a reasonable amount of time too.

i used speed and sport in houston also excellent results! price was fair for the quality job. i am going to send him all my parts (i spoke to craig probably the owner)

 

Centex did all the plating on my 50 Chevy in 2005 and it still looks great...
