My wife and I were honeymooning in Hawaii back in 07 and saw this cool Merc with a lot of cool things in the owners yard. I was driving along looking for a place to eat when in the corner of my eye I see a Merc. Well, of course I turned the rented Mustang around to investigate. Cool stuff. Check it out.
Pretty cool. I wonder if the big dog head was off of a "Doggy Diner" like they used to have a few of in S.F.? His license plate says "Lust Munkey". The louvers must help keep the beer in the trunk cold.
Sure looks like a doggy dinner to me. Note the DD letters on the hat. Those were interesting dinners, the guys behind the counter specialized in putting together hot dogs so fast their hands were a blur.
To answer a few questions. Yes, my wife thought it was interesting. She knows how much I love Mercs. So many people have seen this car because it is parked in the driveway of the first house down a side street off a main rd. And lastly, yes the boat is still there. Thanks guys.
I saw that car too...... I am the most un Hawaii type of guy... haha but that place ****ing rules..... I have funny storys from the beach.
Some very cool pics to stare at for a bit. A lot happening there. Looks like there were a couple of real people in the yard along with some of the odd stuff. Did you stop to talk?
Anyone have a side shot? That chop looks friggin fantastic! Looks like they took out that 45 degree angle that most chopped four doors have on the backside of the rear doortop.
Been to Maui alot but never saw that Merc..There used to be a red on red 62 Dodge Dart convertible in Lahaina sitting off front st. on the south end..pretty rusty but still cool to check out. We were there March and they were doing work on the road that goes from the south Maui area into Kahului..the old NHRA race track used to be there but everything was gone except for the sign for the entrance..it was freakin cool but there was always someone working there or way too much traffic to ever try and take it..I hope it ended up with someone and didnt get the chuck.. I should have just snagged it and shipped it home..oh well
I saw that thing in Hawaii when I went a couple of years ago, it was all I thought about for the rest of the trip!

been there, done that The "real" people are fibergl***..... along with the cow. saw this homemade woody and the roadster PU below in Kehei. Only in Hawaii Below is a few more snaps from past Maui trips including the shipwrecked sailboat on Front Street near "Cheesburgers in Paradise" The panel delivery shown at "Mama's Fish House" is now gone. If you can go to Hawaii during Halloween, Lahaina has an awesome street party called "Maui Gras" lots to see there....... If you like music, go see "Willie K" he will blow you away... 3 octave range voice and he can play any guitar like you can't believe. He does everything from traditional Hawaiian (my favorite) to Jimi Hendrix, his friends call him the "human jukebox" although I've stumped him a couple times. The last photo is Willie K and my son. Tell Wille, "MrMetallic's Dad" from Portland sent you, he'll get a kick out of that.
Car guys are all the same, We were there in April 08 and found the same cars. Here are the shots I got of the merc and the woody.
