I have two Rochester B's that I just rebuilt. I know these carbs are known as leakers and I expect them to weep some. Both carbs are dripping fuel at the rear of the bowl. It would appear that the fuel is coming out of the pump rod hole. Is my float not adjusted correctly or can this be a warped bowl cover? I was very careful to set the float up level and to 1 9/32" and 1 3/4" spec's. They are a matched set of #7002050 tagged carbs.

I had the same issue with B's. Had mine set up like the book specs, whatever that was. But the fuel level was too high and the gas was overrunning the accel pump rod.

Try lowering the float, That's how I cured the leak. Add an 1/8 inch to that measurement and give it a try. If they still leak a little, go another 1/8 inch.

But first, are you using the stock pump, or electric. Too high fuel pressure will also create high fuel levels in the bowl.

Agree with Frank, here I had similar issues and a simple float adjustment fixed the issue

Thanks for your help!!!! I am running a new mechanical pump so I think I should be OK there. I'll reset the float level as you suggest. It makes sense to me....just needed a little confirmation of my ****yses.

Hey guys, I'm having a similar problem with weeping/hemorrhaging from my single Holley AA1, though mine seems to come through the throttle shaft and between the main body and throttle body.
When you say adjust the float, do you mean the float level adjustment, the float drop, or both? Thanks!

    We are talking level adjustment.

But your issue is loose shaft in the housing, it should not leak there while running cause the va***n inside should be ****ing air there and not letting the gas out. Until it's really bad, then gas leaks there while running. but you should have idle problems then. and maybe a stumble from the vac leak.

Loose screws between throttle housing and main body, too. you should take it off and look at it closer.

Thanks for the reply gas pumper. So i've done a bit more troubleshooting. I pulled the carb off again, stripped it down and checked everything again. After I remounted it, it starts and idles way cleaner. I left it idling and then had someone give it gas, no leaks either idling or with gas applied. Now when i got my buddy to push the choke in, and turn off the ignition, killing the engine, about 10-15 seconds after is when the carb started to leak around the throttle body to manifold seal. i swapped in a new gasket and the same thing happens. bolts are tight, and i'm beside myself...any advice is appreciated...

wow, thank Jon for the link, tons of great info, who'd have thought?
I may look into that "vapor return line option" and see if it's doable.
again thanks everyone for all the info, little by little some of it is stickin' in my brain
