Me: older guy, usual amount of old cars and clunkers in my past. Looking at a '39 Chevy body sitting in the weeds, wishing I had the cash to do something about it. Why no money? Uh, well aside from the 'economy' I am working on a motorcycle customization project (Yamaha 1100 cruiser). I plan to do it retro and have acquired a few parts like a '49 Chevy taillight, a round Studebaker brake pedal, some DeLuxe plaques and am making other parts. One part I am tying to make (and why I wandered in here) is a hood ornament for a, I think, 1938 Ford truck. A fellow named Dan Collins had such a truck featured in the Winter 2008 issue of Rod & Kulture magazine (yeah, I read lots of hot rod magazines) and I fell in love with his hood ornament (don't make too much of that, will ya?). However, after scouring the Internet I can't find such an ornament. I'm not even sure if its a stock part for that truck. Anyway, one of my searches for 'Dan Collins Ventura CA' popped up the HAMB site, so I thought I'd drop in and see if any of you fellas could shed some light on my little mystery. I know you're busy so I appreciate your time. Anybody know Dan? I'd like to ask him about his hood ornament. Thanks.
Keep rolling your pennies like me and you can start on that Chevy! I would like to see pics of the bike project too.
