Evening all, Right then, I have to work in Vegas on business from Wednesday to Monday 12th Oct. Anyone educate me on what Hot Rod shops I should get a look in at? Any hapenings going on? Even with only 1.5 British Pounds to the USD still makes a good shopping trip Thanks
I was out there last summer and only shop I hit was So Cal Speed shop, was Sat. and was some bench racing going on but didn't hit in shops, per se. Don
The guys at SoCal are great. I pay them a visit every year when I go for SEMA. Ask them what else to see. They'll probably have some suggestions.
Ask the So-Cal guys to put you in touch with Art Goldstrom. He has a couple of buildings full of hot rods that are worth seeing.
Besides So Cal there isnt much here, you could take a trip to the imperial palace hotel casino and walk thru the car collection, but the place is kinda seedy
Take a ride over to the Speedway & check out the Shelby Factory (FREE TOUR) and Museum, and also do the track tour, pretty cool facility, and a free airshow running all day next door from Nellis AFB. I've asked some of my club brothers to check this thread too.
Kind of off topic a little, don't know if your into bikes or not but big mid-america auction this weekend and flat track racing at the south point.....
When at the race track in the building area where the Shelby factory is do some driving around the lot behind buildings. You never know what you'll see. 1 trip out there we saw the Flintstones car from the movie. Another trip we saw the Speedracer car from that movie, among afew old cars sitting around. Over on Boulder Hwy is a consignment lot usually full of old cars. Maybe a mile orso north of there (same road) there used to be a few old mopars (60's) sitting in a lot on the west side of the road. Alot of stuff sitting around only seems like none is ever for sale. Good luck on the trip and take some pictures for everyone here.
My wife has relatives dowqn there and whenever we visit I go out to the track to look around, you never know what you will see. Also the Petty thing is worth doing once in a life time. Eight laps alone in one of those cars makes for an exciting afternoon.
Bit of a Typo on the date....Its supposed to be Jan!...That will teach me to do 2 things at once!! Ha ha Stuck in Minesota now for 4hrs, then onto Vegas later.
