Anyone know a R.I. customizer named Phil Allard? He had a chopped 55 Ford sedan called Kandy Girl.I'd like to see some pics if anyones got em.
I remember a fire engine red 55 chopped 2 door sedan with big candy blue flames . It had a blue cloth faux convert roof. Is that the one? ...rolled pans, wire wheels and a 54 chev center bar and teeth .
All I know so far is it was chopped, had suicide doors and I think was purple. I think it was built in the 80's.
The car Im talking about had suicide doors. I bet the blue flames I was talkin about was once he entire color of the car. Frenz,Where are you,Ive got pics!ITS THE CAR!
OK Anthony. While we're on RI cars how about the yellow 52-54 Ford tudor. It was chopped, pancaked hood, 54-5 desoto grille, 55 pontiac bumpers. The car & others used to come over to the monthly cruise Connecticut Kustom Kemps used to put on in ****ord. The Kemps broke up in the late 80's & it's been at least that long since I've seen it although I also remember seeing it at lead east in the 80's as well. I know you know the car I'm talkin about. Does anyone know if the car is still around? I know I have a pic but my old albums are in storage. How about the Green Dutchess? I think thats what it was called. Not from RI but cool as hell. Billy
Never mind.It came to me. Blain Kauffman still has the 56 Merc that he chopped when it was brand new and he was 16 years old.
Green Dutchess, I'm thinking of the wrong car because Blains Merc Isn't what I was thinking of. 54 Merc or Ford hardtop maybe gl***top. scalloped green & white or gold. I know it was something Dutchess. Billy
The coolest thing about the DeSomma Ford was the 50 Merc back window and I think it had 56 98 taillights. There is a Hamber with a very similar car. The yellow car was never seen without Ted Coffines orange 'Party Doll"56 Pontiac right beside it.
. There was a candy green wicked 54 Merc called the Renegade that was owned by legendary Jersey bodyman John Paszik. The car was at Lead East many times and was slammed to the ground with Raiders on it. Look at UnionvilleHaunts second or third hamb post . It was his uncles car . I turned him on to the Hamb when Chopolds posted a pic of it.
Thats cool but not the one I'm thinking of. But I Don't know where I keep ***ociating a 54 hardtop & dutchess from. I'll have to sleep on it & the car will comeback to me in more detail. Billy
I remember both of those cars, the drivers really took them EVERYWHERE! I had seen Pary Doll pretty recently, but not the yellow Ford. The last time I talked to him, he was thinking aobut doing a section job on the car! Might explain why it's MIA. I seem to remember another Dutchess car, as well. Blain'e car DID have Green Dutchess painted on it, on the quarters, back before he repainted it (15 years ago?). John's Merc never had any lettering on it. I think the spare tire cover in the trunk had Renegade upholstered on it. I gotta get my old albums out again???!!!!!!
Yes that was Phil Allards Ford.I got his phone number and called him-great guy!He invited me to his shop next time I'm in the area to see his collection of pics of cars he has customized. It should be something since he's truly "old school" at 70 years old.He said when he owned the 55 it did'nt have a carson or conny kit.
Anthony, I must say you are amazing. Your knowlege of Customs is impressive. I wish I knew that much about...anything! You are an ***et to the HAMB. Come back north. Slag misses you. You're going to miss the Hoe Down. Florida is for old folks. Spike
When it comes to useless info,Im unbeatable. However ,the last time I tried using a drill I ripped half my ****in clothes off.
Hi, I know this is an old thread but my father still has his 53 Ford just the way it was in the 80's. Party doll was owned by Ted Coffeen, He is my fathers cousin. He has lived in Florida for at least 15 years now and last I heard he just sold it this summer. This is from today. Regards, George DeSomma Jr.
I believe Phil Allard still lives in ***beerland, RI. He has built a lot of cars over the years. He also built a chopped 39 Chev that was really neat. I have not seen George in a few years. He also had a nice rust free 49 Merc. Not sure what he did with that one.
I have some more pics but they need to be scanned. Also have pics of his 52 chev kustom that he did before that one. Sorry Ron, He sold the merc local in the last few years but still has plenty of other stuff laying around, you know what I'm talking about. lol
Phil Alard had a red chopped ford and many other cars. He use to work on cars with his son Bob. Phil is my uncle. Talk about trophies. His living room is full.
