Rockford Illinois Area - HAMB on the Rocks

I haven't asked them yet but there is a Bar/Grille in Roscoe called The Firehouse that has a separated room off to the side (had tv and pool table too). We went there the other night and someone was having a 40th birthday in the room. I thought it would be a cool place for an afternnoon meet n greet.

I've never been to the Stockholm Inn but have heard the food is good. Do they also do lunch?

Great suggestions so far, so keem 'em coming. We will figure out a place right after New Year's and yeah we can definitely try different places in the state line area.

 

There is also the Backyard Grill and Bar in Roscoe. They have real good food and I believe the Roscoe location has a separate side room.

I called the Firehouse pub today in Roscoe and I'm supposed to call back in the morning to talk to the manager. If that doesn't work out I willl call the backyard. Look for an official post tomorrow! Roscoe seems like a good half-way place right now so if we have more folks from south of Rockford we will move Feb's meet south and if we have more folks from Wisconsin, we will move the February meet north. Can't wait to see you guys.. this snow and cold has already started to get me down.

OK, so its official, the first HAMB meet and greet in the Beloit / Rockford stateline area is on for Saturday, January 17th at Noon located at the Firehouse Pub in Roscoe, IL.

The Firehouse is located in downtown Roscoe just a couple of blocks off 251 at 10670 Main St. Roscoe, IL 61073 phone is (815) 623-8389.

You Wisconsin boys can exit in South Beloit toward 251 to avoid paying into our governor's legal defense fund.. er... the toll ways.

Nothing fancy, just a time to meet new folks, reconnect with old friends, and have lunch. Based on the turnout this month, we will decide as a group what to do next month.

I will edit the first post and will post this announcement in the social group tonight.

I'll check with the future boss to see if we can do your HAMB-on-the-Rocks right after the SW Chicago HAMB and Eggs. Man, that's a lot of HAMB for one day.

 

So is it Saturday the 17th, or Sunday the 18th? If it's Saturday, I'll see you all there, if it's Sunday, I guess I won't.

Im part of SW Chicago HAMB and Eggs, heres a thought. Im close to Ron Leek, the owner of Byron drag strip. Rons always open to club like events at the track. Lets think about a HAMB get together at the track this summer.The location would allow Il and Wi folks to attend. You could even make a p*** down historic Byron raceway, the house of horsepower!

 

Hell yeah! It will be a tough job to pick a weekend in the summers around here that doesn't already have an event though. Let me know what needs to be done to make it happen.

 

We need a weekend at the track that doesnt have a big event, thats easy. Ron has clubs booked in all summer.Big deal is just what you said, when can all of us find a weekend. Give that some thought, Ill do the same with SW chicago group. You can look a www.byrondragway.com for some insight.Informal thing, we would simply have to pay admission, Id try to get a HAMB parking area. This is good for us and the track, our stuff is fun to look at!

Right Jeff. I went down to the Springfield meet this past Saturday. They had 13 fellas present. I hope we have at least than many. Still looking for more to post up for role call.

Cool, Ron and B.J. would enjoy this. We run an Outlaw Super Stock car and get booked into Byron during the season. I do some business with Ron also. Looks like we need dates for the get together.A T&T day would probably be the best. They dont have the 2009 schedule posted yet.If you watch the opening video for Byron, most of the cars are Outlaws.
