LOL HANDS DIRTY? I believe we have the only person to DA a car and not get dirty hands. Course then again, folks say I could paint a room with white paint wearing a tux. Its not work hard, its work SMART....S Mart. (thank you ash)

Fingernail color or not keep it up.

I'm fixated on the front hubcaps, what are they from, and do you know the diameter?

sounds like you have a good teacher to learn from. my first paint (or prep job) i had two buddies who knew less than i did about body work. at 17 their attention span would quickly turn to whipping donuts in the golf cart and blowing dust all over me and my freshly sanded panels.

good luck and more pics. ( painted nails or not )

I'm looking forward to more progress pics ;)
The trim is so hard to remove because it went on before the fender was bolted to the car.

With a little help from some very valuable and valued friends, I am happy to say that the Edsel is now approximately 95% in epoxy primer sealer. :D

Spent Sunday and Monday finishing up the driver's side doors, and driver's front fender, and had some help with the whole process. . .

Since we had to take the door panels off to get to the bolts holding on the chrome, we put 8Sparkplugs' son, and his 1st grade cl*** mascot, Shakespeare the Dragon, to work vac***ing out the doors. . .

Shakespeare also did an engine check to make sure everything was hunkey dorey A.O.K. . .

Goes soooo much quicker with a couple of extra folk sanding. . .
    8Sparkplugs. . .

    And VOILA!

Will soon be moving on to takin' off front & rear bumper, grill, doing the body work. . .and then blocksanding until my nails are ground down to nothin'ness ;)

Flake is already on order for the roof, paint is gonna be purchased in the next couple of weeks. .and then the fun of taping will begin!

Thanks again to everyone who has been so encouraging. . .it has really helped me to stay on track with this project. . .and many many thanks to those who have given of their time and energy thus far to get'er'done! :D

Dang Frankie, Looking really sweet already. That's gotta feel good. Did you decide to go with the JamesD paint scheme?

Thanks! I am gonna modify JamesD's original scheme slightly. . .adding to it, because a great many of her lines have REALLY come out since strippin' her down and puttin' her in epoxy, and I'd really like to highlight them. . .

More scallops :) More panels :) Tastefully done, of course, but I think she's really a more is more kinda car. .of course they may not all get done before Round-Up, but eventually. . .

I would have to agree again with you Royal. Go, Go, Go. Im highly impressed. Not worried about getting dirty; even with gorgeous nails like that :)

Good luck on this and please keep us posted.

  12. Looking good Frankie. I'd like to see a photoshop rendition of the car with the same type paint scheme you have above, but without the scallops, and have the dark color blended or fogged on the body lines with no hard edges. Less is more in my opinion, but opinions are like a-holes and I'm sure it'll look good however you end up doing it.

I met Frankie when I was in Austin to help with Hurricane Ike. She is a DYI gal that definately knows her cars, especially hers.

I think I remember telling you Frankie that I've always had a soft spot for Edsel's, and yours is looking real good. A unique car that can only get more attention with the body work/paint scheme your doing. Good luck with the rest of it and looking forward to the finished results.

Awwww. . .thanks Bruce! Very kind words, and much appreciated :)

Would love to roll her out to Midnight M***, so you could see her up close and personal. . .will have to see where finances stand by that time of the year, because I'd love to take her on a cross country road trip and get to meet you and yours!

P.S. Dart -- last night was the first time anyone had seen her all in one colour. .I literally finished her up about 2 hours before D & D last night :D

I bet you can hear her saying, 'I'd like to give thanks to all the little people that helped me to get to where I am today...' :D

Keep on Rockin' Girl, looks good...

That would be awsome to have you, some other VooDoo Dolls and maybe you can talk the Kreatures into coming for Midnight M***. Would love to see the finished project in person, along with you too, of course.

Did you see who we have playing this year? Wayne Han**** and Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Boys.

You are NOT making this easier, Bruce! ;):D

I'm sure I can wrangle a couple of the grrls into a ROAD TRIP!!! With the promise of Wayne, Big Sandy & the Fly-Rite Boys, you just made my "job" of convincing them about a million times easier. . .:D

OkieVoodoo -- LOL!! :D The whole Shakespeare the Dragon thing is pretty nifty -- each kid takes him home for a weekend and is supposed to take pics of what "Shakespeare Did" and write a report/story for the cl*** to hear. . . I think it was the first time Shakespeare had ever seen a 292 Y, but he did help fix my dieseling problem ;):D

And i promise, Shakespeare the Dragon, had a story unlike any other to tell that Monday...

These are the things that shape the kids, not sitting and playing video games... actually doing something...

Nice, really nice. I love Edsels. What kind of power do you have under the hood? If its FE (actually it doesn't matter if it is or not), we have a social club where we swap info, and have alot of parts sources, you are welcome to join up. Getting to be a good knowlege base there.

Yeah, that's me, shameless Jezabel that I am :p

Running the original 292 Y, just rolled 100,000 on her on my way to PnP in Nov., and I think I might just have to join y'all. . .

Seriously thinking about switching her intake and puttin' a 4bbl on her, but that may have to wait until this is done. . .

    Thanks for the invite!:D
