I have never had a car stolen, knock on wood, I have had a set of ET. Mag wheels stolen by a neighbor back in the 60’s. I also had a 60 Corvette sitting at my friend’s house right next door to a cop. The houses were real close to each other, I can’t prove it but I’m positive that his other friend got the hardtop from the 60 Corvette. My point is who knows the truck better then friends and acquaintances. You said the engine had recently been put in. It’s something that wouldn’t hurt as long as you don’t accuse anyone but just look around. I hope he gets it back, it is a really nice looking truck, and he must have a small fortune in it.

Here is a little more information on the truck to hopefully help with identifying it (or parts off of it that might show up)...

    • Wheels are torq thrust II’s,18x8s in the front with 245/45 tires, 20x10 in the rear with 295/40 tires They are Dunlop tires
    • The engine is a 6 month old 350 small block Chevy crate motor bought from a GM dealership. It has '69 camaro headers on it. The headers have been jet hot coated. Also, the frame has a very small notch in it for clearance for the headers on the p***. side.
    • The transmission is an Art Carr 700R4.
    • It has a Budnik "Prism" half-wrap steering wheel on it. The rest of the interior is pretty much stock. It has a stock looking dash, and door panels. And a black leather seat with vertical pleats.
    • It has the gas door on both sides of the truck, but there is only the one gas tank on the p***. side
    • has a molded in roll pan on front and back (no bumpers)
    • It has a '91 gmc suburban front clip.
    • It has a cowl induction hood.
    • The license plate frame is a socal speed shop frame.
    • There are no outside mirrors or antennas.
    • It has a power master gear reduction starter. (if you’ve ever heard one starting, they have a unique sound)
    • The bed stake pockets have been smoothed.
    • A red (approx. 3" square) Louisiana tech student parking sticker on the lower corner of the driver side of the back window.
    • Has no outside lock cylinders. Operated by remote from the outside, but still has the factory lock rod on the interior.
    •CD player in the dash
    • Has an optima battery (red top)
    • It has 3" aluminized exhaust tubing with an x pipe in the center.
•*It has Edelbrock mufflers. It exits on the p***enger side near the back(right behind the rear wheel) but it’s not visible from a standing position.
    • The wheel tubs look factory, but are actually about 3" wider than stock.

Here in Louisville we have a newspaper called , well I cant remember what its called, the paper is for people to pay a small amount to post used items for sale. You probably have somnething like that there. I knew someone who "lost" their wheels and they watched the paper and saw them listed. He sent someone to check them out and then called the cops after confirmation they were his. Check Craigslist and Ebay for parts off of the truck in your local area. I hate thieves with a p***ion. You work your **** off and use the baby's formula money to buy a bigger carb or new headers and some ******* steals it. JB

There is a little place north west of Ruston, called Mt.Olive - ask L. S. P. to look
up there, Has Ruston PD even put it in the State computer?

I have no way of knowing if it's really in the computer or not....depends on who you believe.

And one of the guys that we talked to with the state police said Wednesday (whether he slipped up and didn't mean to tell us, or if he just didn't care...I don't know) that they wouldn't actually go out and look for it even if they had a lead on it.

Right now, I feel like the guy could drive by in the truck and do everything but wave to a cop and it wouldn't even matter.... I don't know

no updates....but just wanted to bump this back to the top...

please keep watching for it, and if you haven't already, tell everyone you can about it.

update... looks like it WAS put in the computer...so I'm not sure what the problem was on why some people were saying it wasn't showing up...maybe they didn't know how to type it in or something...I don't know

so anyway, don't know anything else about what's going on with the truck.... but at least it should show up as stolen if someone runs the plate.

keep watching for it, could still be in Ruston or it could be in a different country now, so even if you're somewhere really far away, try to remember the truck

    Thanks,
    Kenny

    **UPDATE**

The truck has been found!... Although I haven't seen it yet with my own eyes, the police said they have positively identified it....It is completely stripped. Nothing is left but a bare cab and bare frame.

We were told that it was found in Caddo Parish (about an hour away from Ruston).

Please keep an eye out for the parts of the truck. I have no clue what happened with the rest of the body, suspension, interior, wheels, engine trans, etc....

Just keep watching for the parts in case they show up somewhere in your town, or on the internet. Let me know if you see something su****ious.

Thank you to everyone on the hamb for all of your support.

Oldrodkid, I'm your neighbor behind you on Camille St. I just caught this tonight. Sorry to hear about your truck. That was one nice truck man. I'll be by this weekend for an update on it and your coupe. I just started a project A coupe with a Desoto Hemi. We need to get together.
