Anyone who has had to sell or otherwise qiut a project knows how I'm feelin'. Was goin' thru some old pics and came across these pics of a digger I used to have. Heavy Sigh!!! Had it all mocked up. Ready for real parts. But life threw a wrench into those plans. Had to sell her . Woulda' been fun. Another Heavy Sigh!!! Was told by seller that it was a Davis Truss type ch***is. Someone correct me if that's wrong. Had a banjo rearend. Had the hand pump on the fuel tank to pressurize the fuel. We used old push rods for the separators on the zoomies. Trailer was included with the car. Was just gonna' have some fun with it. Sorry for the sad story. Just felt like tellin' it. I'm sure you all have similar stories you could tell. THANKS for listenin'!!! Feel better now!!!
Back in the 70's, a guy wanted to trade his '41 Willys drag truck for my '55 Chevy 210. I couldn't do it because my '55 was my daily driver.
Yea...I lost a 69 roadrunner convertible due to poor judgement and bad cir***stances (should never of let my wife pay ...or not pay,,,the bills!)
years ago when the first gas crisis was going on, I had a chance to trade my 68 datsun pickup for a 58 vette if I threw in a hundred bucks. I refused. dumb ***........
I bought my first car in 81 a running 57 chevy hard top a rust free gem . I took it apart in a million pieces ,lost my job, and Dad wanted his garage back. So I sold it 4 pick up loads and a wrecker took it away. The guy took 26yrs to get it back on the road and still has it, but wont sell it back to me. At least I know where it is.
My wife and I have seperate accounts now after I had to sell a 1930 Model a coupe to pay some bills....
A '63 Autocar with a stainless steel cab, one of about 12 built, with a rollback body already on it. Figured I didn't really need it...
bout 20 years ago saw I kept seeing a 33 Willy's chopped top fibergl*** drag body being dragged from swapmeet to swapmeet for about two years. I had a GTO project going on and was in highschool at the time. The car had a $1500. sticker on it as did the front end. Figuring 3 grand was more than I could swing and that my parents would kill me if i brought home another project (always had 2 grand in my pocket for GTO parts at the swapmeets) I only sat in it and dreamed. The car finally sold and talking to the owners later on was told that it was $1500 for both!! Stupid kid that I was never asked. Still dream about that body a couple times a year.
I sold this 59 Ranchero one winter to pay for heat. I had spun a rod about 6 months prior to this. I had all the Galaxie 500 trim on the inside including the Town and Country radio. Ended up selling to a hunchback for $400 and a case of beer... Bobby
