I took some pics at the second lonestar roundup of this 60 chev convertible. Does anyone have some updated info on this car? was it ever finished? I had seen it the summer previous to the roundup at a texas heatwave show it had a m***ive C notch, and then at the round up it had the added scallops and silver dash. also at that same roundup show there was a studebaker (ithink ) truck flat black, chopped, with a crazy dash... some sort of sheetmetal sculpture that split the interior in half...might have had mid west plates. I would like a pic of the dash if anyone has it.
here is a better shot of the 60. are there any sites that might have coverage of that show. the pics on the roundup site, while nice, are a little artsy for my taste...
Wow, glad to see some 60 chevy fans out there. Seems like this model year gets swept under the carpet...
James King from the Houston area owned it....I'm not sure who it sold to, but I believe he did sell it. The Stude truck belongs to Jeff Myers...he is on here, and I think his Hamb name is "finkd."
Did you check the LSR site, I know they had some previous photos of past years, not sure if they went back that far?
Funny - you can see the ubiquitous yellow jug of Pennzoil hanging out of the rust hole in the right rear quarter in that blurry second pic... I loved that car.
I always liked James car. He has a nice vw van now that was at the swap meet area last year at the roundup. That was the first roundup for Danyelle . You can see me carrying her in the picture.
I think "James King" put the 60 on an S-10 frame .... Pm me I can give you his number ... or email to get all the details .... I think it went over seas..?? The nice 23 window van at last years R.U. is Jeff Keller's from Dallas ... I did all the metal fab and paint ect.... about 10 years ago ....
thanks for the info and shots, you can kind of see the dash in the stude truck in that 3rd pic... I only took 5 photos at that show...I wasn't very prepared for the weather, , got cold and ended up doing a quick circuit and taking off. there was some great stuff there though, a 34 phaeton that drove up from cali., a real texas barn find hot rod from 1956, I remember seeing the weather checked bias plys and thinking wtf "are these people thinking", didn't know it was fresh out of storage from 43 years- cool flathead speed parts on it. Of course It was that year that I moved back to mt, just when the texas scene was starting to get big...
