Customs any body know this merc

i just found this 51 merc looking for some history on it , i think it's from nor-cal bay area,it's purple, with gold ,interior is the same with gold flake inserts ,it a 2 dr with a carson top----

is the top removable? that looks alot like larry lorenzo's old merc from the 50's

Looks pretty cool! LOTS of potential there....
Pretty sure the Larry Lorenzo Merc was a real convertable,not a Carson topped, Coupe.

is it me or does that look like it used to be a four door?i mean were the Carson top stops at the back seem a bit odd for a tudor....may be the pic angle?

I think it's the shape of the top...

 

id say its a tudor, unless somebody went thru the h***le of putting rear fenders and changing the rocker seam

I don't want to piss you off Tommy,but the back of that top is ugly! Doesn't flow with the back of the car. Don't you think?

Ok now i see it it was just the angle....the car can be easily saved.

Larry Lorenzos was a 50 not a 51 .This cars got **** Dean written all over it.

 

Saw that on Craigslist last week - great score - was cheap too if I recall?
