Man, this is some great nostalgia drag racing photos - I'm in the process of my GASSER project with Blown 392 hemi for power! Should hit the street/strip later this year!

DSC_2979[1].jpg Outstanding website, the pics bring back many pleasant memories of days gone by. Fortunately, I am able to continue "the good old days" every time I let the trans brake button go & launch my baby,
    a 67 Buick GS.

Barb was the first woman to receive an NHRA license to drive a supercharged race car. This is a great photo of her car...but maybe not her favorite! She stopped racing in 1972 but never sold the car. She still has it today. It still looks exactly like this.....totally original, unrestored.

Found some Shirley pics. The magazine said the racing shot is Shirley getting beaten by Dennis Baca with a 5.84 in 1978.

Some oddities I found in my collection, check out how the strapping young man hides his cigarettes in between his ample peck muscles....

Part of reason I posted that pic was cuz Mike Hilton had posted a pic of it earlier. I knew it was that same car just different name.
I don't know Mike, but at Columbus in 89 we where parked next to Jim & Allison Lee when his dad Bobby was driving. I was working on a AA/A in pro comp at the time, And our driver knew them. So thats how I know of him.
Later, In the mid 80's I started working with Clayton Harris and he knew old man Hilton, John I believe. He use to come over to the trailer when ever we raced Columbus and Indy. He was a good old boy as I recall.
