Hotrodladycruiser took this pic of my buddy and I in his T roadster last year at rust revival. I think she discribed it best as "nice and cozy" There is close to 600lbs in there between the two of us.
Back around '78 when I was a skinny 6'2" kid a guy had a chopped and severely channeled '32 Ford PU for sale. Shortened bed, cycle fenders, 283 Tri Power, Met. Green with white tuck androll interior. It was on the rough side and traditional to the bone which wasn't necessarily cool in '78 but I liked it. He wanted $600 and I had the cash, he through me the keys to take it for a test drive. I got my **** in the seat and that's as far as I got. Couldn't get the upper half in and couldn't get my legs in. That truck would be SO damn cool today but it just wasn't meant to be. Fast forward 30 years and I'm a "little" shorter but a LOT rounder and I definitely wouldn't fit now.
At 6 foot and 400+ there are a lot of cars I just dont fit in. I have a real cool vintage 64 Sunbeam road race car that I wouldnt even think about sitting in but it was too good a deal to p*** up. On my 65 Fastback Mustang we did away with the seat risers and also moved the seats back about 4 inches and its comfortable but I tried putting a different set of seats in it and they were too high. I dont have a seat for my 56 Ford yet but I dont think I'll have any problems with it when the time comes. Still want a mid 60's Vette convertible but will have to lose some weight before i can pull that one off. I had a 68 and 69 but I think they have a little more room.
I'm 6'5" 260 pounds, and the cab of the '38 Ford pickup is a little snug. Have to be careful not to bang my knee on the window crank when I work the clutch. Got to get me one of those prism traffic light finder things as I have to crane my neck down to see the traffic light if I'm the first in line at a red light. I've encountered many cars I couldn't get into. My niece had some little British sports car that I tried to get in and couldn't--I couldn't get the door to close with my fat carc*** in the driver's seat and my size 14 feet were too big for those little bitty pedals placed too close together. Friend in Baltimore had a '32 Ford pickup with a 302 Ford in it and a severely recessed firewall, didn't even try. My brother in law has a really nice '27 Model T roadster pickup street rod. I can barely fold up enough to get in on the p***enger side, wouldn't even try to get behind the wheel. My great-grandfather Turner stood 6'8" and wore size 16 shoes--I can only imagine how much trouble he had squeezing into the cars of the '30s and earlier.
6ft.2in. 175 lbs The only car i had that was tight was the 1958 morgan. If your too tall for a closed car just put in a Gurney lump. Ol timers will know what that was .
this is some funny **** lol needed a good laugh.....that said im 6'1" round the 280 mark. i have big cars for a reason. i did the whole mini truck thing and i look back at it now, what the hell was we thinkin!!!! a box s 10 witha 4 or five inch channel......wow..... sorry day dreamin wonder why i have neck problems now lol
I'm 6'5 and 210lbs. Buddy of mine collects vettes. He just bought a nice 67' 427 tri-power/4spd/side exhaust roadster out of So.Cal. He know's that car is on my "I will own" list so he tossed the keys to me and said lets go for a drive. Got in, pushed in the clutch, fired it up and shut the door. I couldn't let out the clutch, my leg hit the F'n HUGE steering wheel... He's 5'8" and 175 so he drove and I wore the smile as we went into 3rd at 110+ I still have that car on my I will own list and it MUST be a 4 spd car. I will have tilt and a smaller steering wheel
A friend of mine actually sold his 32 Ford PU because he got too fat to drive it! Unfortunatly I wasn't in a position to by it as it went cheap!!
At 6' and 300# I'm building a Bantam with roll bar. The Bantam is getting a C4 (smallest auto) and a dune buggy tilt so steering shaft can be raised for entry/exit. Seating has to tilt back to match drawing so it is getting fibergl*** buckets leaned back until side flange level and molded in as floor to give room for driveshaft between seats which is covered by plate gl***ed between seats.
One cool thing about being 5.412, and a buck seventy, is that my wife and I can comfortably tour in a Willys 77.
...I sold my '55 Bird for just that reason. I couldn't drive it in comfort, therefor I didn't drive it often. I have a 1965 F-150 I'm selling partly for the same reason. * * * CHEAP SALES PITCH * * * 1965 F150 for sale, I have an album with pictures of it on the HAMB.
I'm 6'6" and about 240 and this is what I'm working on. It will be comfy once I get in, but I can tell you that it's a ***** getting in and out.
6'3" and 350 pounds. Off topic, but when I was younger and a little skinnier I got stuck halfway in and halfway out of a Geo Storm. It would have been funnier if it wasn't raining. I drove my dad's '78 Chevy Luv in high school. I could not put my elbows down when I was behind the wheel...
