Hey guys. Im at a fork in the road... ive been here once before... but... not sure anymore. Im torn between the sleek styleside and the curvy flareside.... the truck originally came with a flareside and I replaced it with a styleside of better shape.... well... my wife keeps going on and on about liking the flaresides so much better.. and she thinks they look good... heck shes got good taste she married me right!! haa. ha .. yeah. well. shes starting to change my mind. again. dang it. Before I start my body work... should I go with the flare or the styleside? here are two example of what I would like the truck to look like. lets take a vote... if you feel like it post your thoughts, opinions, or pictures..
I think the '57-'67 trucks just look better as Stylesides...more sleek...but, opinions...everybody's got one...
Styleside for sure IMO. The flareside rear fenders just don't match the front fenders on the post '56 trucks.
i like the Styleside fenders better. I rarely like any kind of Step or Flare side style trucks though
Styleside. I don't think Ford had the right lines to wear the stepside, it just look out of proportion with the front end.
I agree, the only trucks I like with steps are the early models that were un-availible with fleetsides.
my son and I are building him a 64, bought it because that was the last year for the straight axle and the fleetside....But hey it's your truck.......
I own a 55 f-100 and the fourth gen steps don't compliment the new design so I think it looks like a mismatch. Personally I like full customs where as the brown primer custom is closest to my liking i would like to see one with front fenders graphed to the rear call it the superstyleside. Anyone want to photo shop?
With a little bit of work you could have this: There isnt an inch on this truck that hasnt been modified in some way.
My wife of 32 years only likes the flares . So i love her a lot iI dont have a old truck but love her when she is with me getting a new one .
On that era of truck, I say styleside. Just looks a lot better to me, and those rear fenders have that nice swage, which looks pretty grouse. Step side better suits earlier F100s, or most pickups for that matter, like the mid 50s era.
