Simplify?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Weasel, Jan 9, 2009.

  1. Not long ago there was a thread on here that brought up a proposal to ban old rust buckets. To be rid of the cars we deal with. A call went out to email your Congress person or Senator. You, as an individual, an average Joe, like me, can write our congress people, email them, call their office with no chance what so ever to talk to them, therefore *****ing becomes a moot subject as far as most of us, as an individual, goes. On the other hand, one of these "gold chainers" or "billet boys" as you call them, may have given a couple of thousand dollars to one of these politicians campaign. If he were put off by the notion of s****ping all old cars, considered rust buckets, and he was into the car scene, I'll ***ure you all he'd have to do is put in a call to the politicians office and his voice, saying the same as your voice, would be heard loud and clear. It may be these kind of people, if there are any, that would save all of our ***es in an endevor we value so much.

Good point on modern day "chainers" fritz. they do seem to be very trend savy. Aint nothing better than a guy walking into a rod shop and bankrolling a build as tman touched on. Weasle's romantic take reminds me of the underground musician boycotting record labels. The instant biker movement saved Harley Davidson from going belly up ! support your local "CHAINER" live to spend , spend to live man ! ! Ha Ha Ha

One more thing to consider. As the shops and venders go down (and some will),the deposits and paid for items will go down with them.It would be nice to have the ability to get a "heads up" when some one is no longer recieving replies to phone calls/emails etc. Some people have been hurt substantialy.Your parts at the chrome shop, machine shop, upholstry shop etc.The Hamb could be a tremondous help in this area if done responsibly. We definatley would want to be careful regarding some one thats in trouble but wants to do the right thing etc, etc.

i have always been glad my "automotive infection" stayed at a hobby level. i'm pretty lucky because the industry i'm in brings all these people together: FOOD! met some great people at the ham&eggs breakfast's and who knows one of them might have been a gold chainer in disguise!
