for some reason i thought the easiest way to drop it and upgrade the brakes on my '51 gmc would be to do a s-10 frame swap... my hang up now is what to do about pedals... i can make a cleverly arranged system of pulleys and levers to get the job done... however, that seems like a nightmare... i'm wondering if the way to go would be to buy pedal ***emblies... i don't know if that's the way to go...

  3. Stick or auto? For brakes it's a no brainer. Just use the master cylinder from the S10. The brake pedal ***embly bolts on to it inside the cab. If running a standard trans get the whole setup from the S10. Pretty much an afternoon bolt in.

  4. Nice looking setup Doliak. Hell of a lot of work.

Do a search for Frame Swap. There is an S10 frame swap thread with tons of info.

that's how i originally found the board... it's great thread... then my wife had to go and post about her "bionic eye" so i decided i might as well chime in... there wasn't much about the pedals... and me and my buddies having too much fun tearing down the s-10, we kind of lost some of the parts i should have kept...

think i had prolly 50hrs or so in the set in the top pictures, i did add the gas pedal to that setup too. the trickiest part was turning down the br*** bushings so they would press into the pivot point and getting the cross shaft turned to the right diameter. i think ive got my drawings around someplace and ive still got the pedals at the shop if you need any info to help you along.

What if you would like to try to make it look original. Is there some kind of a setup that could be used or has anybody tried this?
