I have a guy interested in buying 2 of my trucks but I am in the San Francisco area and he is in Amarillo, TX so shipping is a concern. (1) truck is a good runner and the other is a non-runner (but good tires and easy roller) with parts that can be put in a box and secured in the bed of one. But, there is also a spare cab shell which won't fit in the bed very well (mostly height restriction for any hauling truck).

I am looking for options to try to figure out a reasonable way to get it all from me to him. I thought there was a social group or sticky thread or something on people needing and offering hauling/relays stuff. But, can't seem to find it. Was that my imagination or wishful thinking? If not, might be nice if there was something like that. Maybe a social group or cl***ified type section that was easy to post on and search when needed.

Anybody here on the hamb have any good ideas or looking for a gig like that before I start checking with the more standard auto shipper options. Might be a good side gig for somebody. With all the guys out of work and some maybe needing some spare cash, might be thing a to do.

Basically 2 long bed pickups and the spare cab which can probably be put in and secured in the bed of one of the trucks if possible. The spare parts will likely go in a wooden box I have already and then just set in and secured in the bed of one of the trucks. There is a spare motor too that he is considering that might go.

    Thanks.

Pull the none running one with the one that's running using a dolly. You can fit a cab in the bed and the parts in the other bed.

That is not a bad idea actually. Unfortunately, the running one is not currently registered so that might make it tricky and a bit expensive as well. But, not a bad thought. I'll throw that idea at him and see if he feels like doing it that way.

I have found cheaper haulers using www.uship.com where it is free for the listing person. Also check out the hauling schedule on www.yesterdaystractors.com where you would be surprised how many people are running around with an empty trailer going your way looking for gas money. Of course, my favorite hauler is BenD who could not haul 2 trucks at one time sadly.

    Paul,

Thanks for the tips. I posted a message on the Yesterday's Tractors site and will check into Uship.
