Number 1 movie on my top movies list, you notice most of us remember most of the lines from the movie. What other movie will you see Harrison Ford (Bob Falfa) sing Some enchanted evening?
Well if you were at "The KKOA" in Gettysburg,PA. , you could have gotten your best picture yet there. Paul LeMat was there with Cindy Williams signing autographs and taking pictures with the yellow coupe and a George Barris car too ! There was also the 58 Chevy there too ! I got to speak with him ( Milner ) and he is just a regular guy like the rest of us ! Now last summer in York , PA at the US 30 car show you could have seen the Black 55 Chevy from American Graffiti & 2 Lane Blacktop ! PLUS , "Miss Hurst" Linda Vaughn was there taking pictures and signing autographs ! You need to get out more often !
My brother had his sedan at the Portland Roadster Show in '99 (won his class plus best engineered) and got Paul Lemat to sit in it, on the show floor, so he could take a picture of Milner in his car. I was sooo excited to see it, and when I did I wanted to throw up. It was so blurry you couldn't tell if there was even a car in the shot, much less hwo was sitting in it. Chance of a lifetime pissed away...
That sure is a great movie. This previous September I met Candy Clark at a car show. Got an autograph on her picture and a picture taken with her. Also won an oldies cd from her. Good times!
MMMMMMMM Candi Clark. Cotton panties! There were cars in that movie? I saw Candi, Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids, Pharohs, and the Wolfman! Hmm cars. Well will have to watch it agian real close this time 1,432.
Was at Mels diner yesterday with the 55 and coupe.. They have them parked out front of the diner at Universal studios
I was affected by the movie too. I saw it back in 73/74 and had seen it about 25 times when I moved to United States in 81. Ever since I first saw it I have aquired souvenirs including posters and lobby cards from the movie theater lobbies back the 70's. I didn't consider it a collection, just stuff I had aquired. It was sitting in a box for year until one day I saw this cabinet at a yard sale. I still buy small items that catch my eye. I guess we are gear head versions of Trekkies. Here are some pics.......
WOW Kev. Lot's of cool Graffiti stuff. Is there anything you Don't have? How do you keep the dust off of all that stuff?
I'm sure there's plenty I don't have. I don't have the Franklin mint 32. Would like it but can't afford it. You could put together a collection like this pretty quickly these days. One thing I want pretty bad is the "More American Graffiti" dragster model, or just the box. I'm sure some kind HAMBer will help me out. Here are some Universal Studios 8 x 10's with descriptions typed on the back that I found in a junk store back in the 80's. T shirts......
Photo I took at the Easter car show in St. Louis a couple of years ago. Have a good day...see you at the races Midwest Connection Rich - Arnold, Missouri
Must be the age set because I familiarized with Dazed and Confused better. "That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I keep getting older, they stay the same age."
Kiwi Kev Is trying to beat my collection......Lota guys try....Seems like theres more now than ever. To see Kevs collection I bet it would take a couple hours.. and a tank full of gas just to make one circuit!!!! AWSOME STUFF Kev. Your collection is the Greatest! It will always be number one. Jeff
I know Axle has a bunch of AG stuff. I would love to see it some day. I bet there are some serious collections out there but I am out of the loop, hope to see some or hear about them.
the coupe and the dragster were at universal studios in the early 80`s with both motors full of water carbs missing siting out side it was sad.
Im building a 55 chevy like Falfa's.. any one have pics of the real cars engine and interior.. what was powering it.. a small block?
no it hada big block in it.......also depending which"55 movie car" it was it had a/c underdash from when it was used in two lane blacktop
I wish there was more movies like that, Ya there is THE HOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS But its not the same. Nothing can take the place of American Graffiti. #1
I have over 60 magazines on the "All Graffiti All The Time" web site showing the cars and stars and someone asks what size motor the 55 has in it?????????? "Geezzzz what a waste of machinery" Why dont you go out and ask a few more questions T..H..E..N.. you come on back and I'll show you a few things!
