Hey kats, so i keep getting people emailing me askin wheres a new update... well when you are always workin on it its hard to get a good update created... anywho i took some time this morning to put some pics together for you guys... enjoy the new updates... you will see that i have been busy... or well...may prove that i truly have lost my mind...

So earlier this past year i managed to get the moon style tank mounted up front, and did so in a way that allows it to appear to be floating with no mounts..

I then had the brackets welded to the tank and now it appears to float in its space.

I welded some tapered rails to the underside of the 2 x 3 tubes so that it gives a true model A frame look from the firewall forward. But in adding that i discovered that i had to put a bit of a notch for my tierod to clear better... so i made a swoopy notch.

Heres where i started to lose what was left of my mind as i spent a week of evenings grinding with the carbide tip in the die grinder, and smoothed out all the welds front to back... and molded it all before sending it to the painter...

Late one night we loaded up the chassis and sent it for primer and finishing. Thanks to Paul for the use of his old full size ford, as my lil S10 wont quite carry a chassis.

While the chassis was gone and the car is all blown apart it was time to start building the mill for it. So i spent more time then i planned on it but hey somethings i had never done before... such as porting and polishing the head... what a pain in the ass to do...looks good now but its not enjoyable in my opinion...

then the head was fitted with custom one off length swirl polished stainless valves... thanks to Primatech for getting me those along with the radical cam to match. OHC Pontiac six parts are not common when it comes to aftermarket so you have to spend some cash when you are psycho like me.

This is the Belt drive, which houses the oil pump, fuel pump, distributor, oil filter, and oil pressure regulator... what a grimy mess... it is however aluminum...

After sanding to 1200 grit and polishing...

Now is where i went crazy polishing things...namely any piece on the engine that bolts on and is aluminum... its all polished now...

Here is the belt drive cover, early models were aluminum so i tracked down one of these and Tombstone worked his magic helpin me polish it up. Tombstone also polished the Cam tower for me too which i will show off once i get it on the engine. I have also spent too much time polishing about 4 dozen stainless button head allen bolts for this engine as well as grinding the heads smooth and polishing hex bolts too...

Here we have a before shot of my oil pan... this was the good one out of the pair i had... so it was time for some metal work... and like a crazy person i decided to bodywork, and get the pan sprayed in a deep gloss black as well have it cut and polished too...

Here is the Pan in its finished form, just finished pinstriping it yesterday...

Now due to the engine mounts originally being under the oil pan and now they are out along side it, it causes some flex and stress on the bolts holding them in place... my old 53 poncho has had bolts break many a time so i figure with the ponys this engine will produce i better build a brace to firm up the engine mounts and make sure nothing flexes. Instead of doin a tube like some people have, Tombstone suggested maybe i could build a I Beam styled one... and i took that to another level, making it mimic my front axle...

Then of course i molded it completely smooth like everything else, as why stop now right...
Here it is in its finished look, just picked up recently from my painter... black on the outside with PPG Vibrance Money Green in the insert...which will be the color of the car... They call it money green for a good reason...yikes...

Almost forgot, here is the how the front dropped axle looks in paint too...

Now as i said before i am a mental case i think as i didnt stop molding everything yet, i did the 9" diffy as well... every bracket, ground smooth, bodyworked the brackets inside and out, had it painted black and then i pinstriped it as well.

Oh yeah, and i guess i should show you guys the finished product for the chassis too after all the molding and such i had it shot in a deep gloss black as well. Im pretty happy with it. So when you have a car totally blown apart and you want to still bodywork the body, the chassis is finished and there is a falcon wagon in the other garage stall what do you do... well this is how you store a chassis within the stall you are working in too haha... i wont start assembling it until i can take the body in for paint.

Now I am on to assembly of the mill, i only have a couple pics so far but more will come as it gets the shiny parts on it.

Well hot damn, certainly is shiny isn't it? I remember when the chassis was just, well, just a chassis and the engine was, well, an old engine. Looks pretty amazing now. It's almost too nice to drive, but then it wouldn't be a hot rod would it?
