Well, as a lot of you know, my dumb *** ran off the road on May 17th, totaled my car and wound up in Shock Trauma with a broken neck and a busted up rotator cuff. With the grace of God, the help of two very talented surgons and the thoughts, prayers, support and encouragement of a LOT of people, I got cleared Friday to return to work tomorrow! The 17th of this month would have been 8 months that I have been out of work.

I fully realize just how fortunate I am. As busted up as my neck was, I should have been paralyzed. As busted up as my shoulder was, I am lucky to have regained enough use to get past the Company Doctor to get back. I am also very fortunate that I have one of the last Union jobs in America with benefits. I received a check each week and the majority of my medical bills have been covered. I have worked Union since 1979 and had never missed any time from work and like most people, resented the abuse that a lot of Union members have shown. I guess it was just "good Karma" that I have tried to do right and it was there for me whan I finally needed it.

Erin & I just want to thank SO MANY of you for all of the support that you have shown us. She came home from the hospital the first day I was injured and posted up on the Bulldog Skates message board asking for prayers. At that point, we really had no idea how things were going to work out. It has all turned GREAT!!

"lowcab," Bernie, took the information and posted it up on here. Between the two boards, we were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and encouragement. I truly feel that all of the positive energy DID make a huge difference. We can never thank everyone enough. All we can do is offer our humble thanks and try to be there for others as the need arises.

Please remember, "Keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel!" Thank you and God bless you ALL, Pat & Erin

Thanks to a decent payoff from the insurance company for the totaled PT Cruiser (Erie Insurance), the HAMB cl***ifieds, "g***er57" for posting up the car, Johnny Ace & Kali & "ScaryLarry" for putting up auctions and several VERY generous HAMBers for their bids and donations, we have replaced the late model with this.....

Keep in mind, this isn't a toy or a luxury, it's my new daily driver. It's WAY kooler than the PT Cruiser! Again, thanks to my HAMB family.....
