Did a search of previous posts and found that the 1965-67 Olds or 1965-70 Buick exhaust valves can be used as modern replacements. I'm not all that familiar with those years and models. What size engines would these be found in ?

In know that Olds had a 330 CI & 400 CI engine in 1965-67, not sure about the Buick. Thanks

I was told that the 5/16" stem nailhead vales would work so you can have modern springs and retainers. Also VW air cooled stainless performance valves are very close and available in many sizes, available from Bugpack, ****, ect. You can ream the 5/16" guides to 8mm and use them they also come with coresponding hardened seats and are very affordable. Are you building a Chevy banger?

Sorry, not a Chevy banger. I've got a Ford Rajo sprint car, a 27 Ford 4 Door, 27 Ford truck and a 27 Ford Roadster. The Chevy head is for the roadster project.

It is always worth to go and ask from the local machining shop. They can make you a set from billet and this is sometimes the cheapest option. You need the measures of the valve with you of course.

These guys are very very good. I have used there stuff for years and never had anything fail. And they will talk to you about 4 valves. If you are able to cut the stems shorter and make keeper groves you'll save some more money too. Their shipping is quick too.
