    Hey Car Gurl!
Welcome to the HAMB! I too was at Posies but never did get to meet you. I did, however, get to the museum and I thank you for the discount coupons. I'll be posting more photos from the museum a little later. The Three Dog Garage section was my favorite, but I also liked the bus display (especially a bus named "Little Spike") and the motorcycles. That restored 1941 Valentine diner was also one of my favorites. I understand about the struggles you will be having with the restored car members and the hot rods, but that's been going on longer than many of us have been alive. There is common ground and I think the focus should be there. I don't envy your job on that one!

Anyway, as others have said, if you need any help, just ask. I'm only about an hour away, just south of Philly, PA.

    Spike -

Thank you and I am sorry too that we didn't get to meet. I was there from 9 - noon or so, so that's too bad.... maybe at another run or show.

I really appreciate your comments about the Musuem. Keep the comments and ideas coming. You are right, I have some challenges, but the Board of the Museum is giving me a lot of authority to make the Museum what I want it to be.... which is a place to go for car guys... funs, shows, cruises, BBQs....

Thanks for the offer of help... I will let you know!
    Hope to see you soon!

I saw the Model T truck and the Crossley at the Farm Show today. The volunteers there had good things to say about you-and even thought having a hot rodder on board was good for the museum. They didn't seem to know about the HAMB, tho"?

Welcome aboard, glad to hear of what your doing in Hershey.
I'm only right up the road on the mountain so I'm sure our paths will cross eventually.

NoboD (doug) pointed you out to me at Posies, but I didnt get a chance to say hi.

Hello and thank you! Hmm, the Poconos, I think that is north east of Hershey... about how far? I'm new to this area and I refuse to buy a GPS!

Were you able to make it to Posies?

Cool, glad you made it to the Farm Show and saw our meger display (it was a free spot that we found out about at the last minute)!

True, I haven't clued the Museum folks in about the HAMB.... these things take time... first they have to get used to me... which will never happen! LOL

Welome to the HAMB! Just saw one of your posts in another thread, noted you were new and in Hershey, put 2 and 2 together and realized you are working in noboD's back yard. Best wishes with your position, there is a HAMB member that was in charge of Greenfield Village, and many other helpfull people here. The HAMB is home to real car people, your troubles are with the club that hired you. Haven't set foot inside the Museun for reasons I will not mention here, but I sincerly wish you the best of luck changing the image it has had to many since it was just a concept. This October will be 40 Hershey Meets in a row for me, look forward to meeting you! Bob

Hey sweetie! GREAT to see you here. Be careful, this place is VERY addicting.;)

You will be coming into town for the Detroit Autorama right? I'll see you then and we can talk about the Jalopy Showdown in York Springs, PA in May. It's not too far from you and the best hot rod event in your area as far as fun factor goes, IMHO of course.:D

    Welcome Holly;

Chocolate and Cars...what more could you ask for!!!

  25. The museum is surrounded by great car events all year. Why not tie in with evening cruise ins at the museum with special twilight admission for cruisers ? Keep the place open until 10. The more people who see it the more they'll tell their friends. I love the buses.

    Hey Gurl,

Welcome to the HAMB. I did the Posies/ AACA Museum tour last weekend too on the way to taking my kid to Ohio. How did you get that semi-sedan delivery thing going on your HHR? I'm ***uming it was yours by the license plate. The AACA Museum is great, my only complaint this time was that the '40 Ford Convert & '40? Lincoln Ambulance weren't out for me to drool over again. Was good to see the Fred Steele '32. The last time I saw it was also in a museum display, at the Museum of Transportation near Boston over 20 years ago.

I keep thinking I'd like to move to Hershey when I retire, but I normally only go there Auto Week, so it's probably different the rest of the year. That Fall Hershey Meet is such a religious experience, that I don't even mind getting fleeced by Hershey Lodge/HERCO for the room.

There are probably more AACA Members on here than you would expect. One of the guys in our Region brought in pictures from the '40s & '50s of dirt track cars and the old Model A & V8 Restorers loved them. I think alot of those guys got into restoration in their later years due to the guilt they have for cutting up so many old Fords when they were young. At least two of our members drove dirt cars way back.

PM me your email, I'll send some copies of the Newsletter I do for our Region.

Best of luck with the new job!

    Hi Car Gurl!

I am so glad to hear you are doing well and we all love and miss you from your old home town and clubs.
We do want to know if you will be seeing us at Autorama in Detroit and working the show as you have been for so long?
I just returned from the Grand National Roadster Show in California and once again it was great.
I met a very interesting person who totally reminded me of you and I thought you should contact her by just saying hello and telling her we know each other from here.
She is a self involved "car girl" and started on here own like you and was just going around meeting people and asking to talk to her on her web site.
Give her a word or two and say hello. I was so happy when she told me she bought a Studebaker as her only car, her daily driver and is doing much of the work on it herself in a friends shop and he is teaching her about it as she goes.
I thought you would like her name too, Grease Girl.
She can be reached at www.GreaseGirl.wordpress.com
Later and I hope you are doing well, we miss ya!
