I'm surprized no one commented on the mirror.
Don't see many of them anymore.

look`s like a great show to me ! thank`s for the free trip

  4. It did actually win an award, that being "Kewlest Cruiser". I picked it as I sponsored that trophy this year.

I think the event stepped up a notch this year with the organisation. Everything flowed pretty smooth for me, so huge thanks to Chopper and crew, especially Carps.

Nah your better off asking aushotrods, I think it was bought from america then when it was here it got bagged and sombreros. Hasnt been on "the scene" for long.

Devilrod, well said. We try to not take things too serious! :D

The pre 64 section worked well until the track was opened, then people drove and parked everywhere! We were parked in for hours.

None of these people have the cool car resumes to be pulling the 'Fonz' on other people's cars....they just aint even HALF of a dude like you, so until that day, they aint in NOOOOO position to be judge, jury and executioner.

It takes wisdom and good humor to wield the Fonz-not to be taken lightly by amateurs!!!!

Love the pics, especially the 35 roadster. I'm really getting into the black steelies / white walls on black paint. I just might go in that direction with my ride..

  15. Thanx Peddro, I was happy that we managed to get everything done pretty much on schedule. The only things that didn't happen on Sunday were the 'Muffler Rap', as nobody signed up and flame throwers because the only ones signed up were the same two from Saturday. Whilst they tried to put on a good show, with a sick engine in one it turned out not to be the crowd pleaser it has been in the past.

For the first time we got the trophies awarded before lunch and all the winners were present. Later they lead the grand parade around the track, which is also the first time we've been able to do that.

Another first was having the main street closed from the roundabout at the top of the hill and being able to use the big rotunda on the beach at the end of the main street. This improved the Friday arvo and evening shindig out of sight. Everybody was well behaved and had a great time, so we may even be able to negotiate closure of the whole 'downtown' block next year.

There's some great shots here thanx guys, I'll try and post some of my pics tonight.

  16. Hey Lowsquire and other critics of 'unnacceptable vehicles', personally I'm not a big fan of early Falcons, just as I suspect others are not fans of what turns my crank. Until the weekend, I didn't think I was a big fan of Dak Daks either, but some of those old Germans are just too cool for words and I luved 'em.

I did notice one Commodore parked alongside the early Falcon crowd (a nicely restored and mildly modified first generation, complete with Chrome Bumpers) and a few more near the stage. I'm pretty sure those were there because many of the band members use them to cart their equipment. Maybe we should make the musicians park outside in future and carry their gear a mile thru the tunnel to the stage?

I also noticed the XE cruising and quite a few people seemed to be having a great time doing the same in MY daily driver. But y'know what, it didn't make anybody bleed or die, so I really don't see why people need to get their ******* in a bunch over it. Why some folks can't let the others who enjoy that stuff get on with building and cruising what they dig so we can all enjoy the variety and get on with the party, is beyond comprehension.

I don't need this ******** so maybe next year I'll just stay home.

I reckon we should make you carry in the PA. Anything you can't carry...you can't use. Can't understand a ****** thing you say..just this constant NOISE.

I do appreciate the work you do though Carps, I'm just sick of your voice ;)

    See you there next year!

Chopper, 'you did good' on many levels, with Australian kustomising being the winner......trust all can see through the 'opinions', and appreciate the many positive elements that the event offers, so chin up dude, stand proud.

Props also the the supporters and all the 'helpers' who help make the event a success.

    Hurry up Carps..:D..

    Cheers,
