I've got my heart set on another A elsewhere...but that one is in limbo for the next few days...so in the meantime I'm looking around. Found this ad nearby and got these pics from the seller. His listed price is $7500. Still has orignial engine and tranny. See any red flags?

    Thx.

That Ross Perot sign in the rear window is worth the price itself....HAHAH.

It's going to need at least an upper wood kit. All that dust makes me think it hasn't moved in a long time. You can sell the running gear to a restorer, but they don't pay much, especially if that engine's locked up. With the top gone, take a real good look at the floor and subrails.

I got mine in April for $6500.00 and it seems like it was in a little better shape then that one is. Maybe that is a better deal where you are though.

Slowpoke that's pretty high for an A coupe unless it's unrusted, in good to very good shape, runs, drives and stops well. If all you're after is the body for rodding purposes then it's way too high. The sundry parts & pieces won't bring more than a couple K even in very good shape. If the motor is locked-up then forget it. $7500 sounds like a "Hail Mary" price. Running it would be a good deal at 5-6K and unrunning 3-4 tops. It might have looked like it was worth it before it sat there for who knows how long and dusted itself up and flattened its tires. Unless you have the patience to bargain the guy down or money to burn then keep looking. A coupes are fairly easy to find. It MIGHT be one of those rare birds with a Cragar-topped B motor, juice brakes, 39 trans and a Columbia 2sp. rear axle, but--well you get the idea.

It's a fellow HAMBer's. It's going the ebay route right now. Hopefully for him he'll hit his reserve and make good money on it. Hopefully for me it won't and you guys can watch and help a newbie do it up right.
