When I got my car road worthy, I tried every variation of Rat fink or Stray Cat that I could come up with, and all taken.....So, I did this one for my chopped 32' Ford....

  5. I currently have the plate QTR MLE on my 2003 GMC crew cab (with a mild 502 in it). I used to run a plate with ET RACR on my tow vehicles since the early 80's, but when I bought a '55 five or six years ago, I couldn't decide on whether to go full race or street/strip, so on a whim when I registered the '55 I asked for QTR MLE

(Fully expecting "Not available" to come out of the clerk's mouth, especially here in California, but she said, "Okay, but what does it mean?". I said, "I race", she said (seriously), "Horses?". Thought she was joking, so I said "Yeah, about 850 of them". Unfortunately that went clearrrrr over her head, as she then said, "That's a big ranch". Think she plays the ponies much?).

Anyway, the '55 got sold prior to finishing it, and as I figured I'd never get the chance to get the QTR MLE plate again, I turned in my ET RACR tow vehicle plates (as they'd never go over on my wife's Merc Milan) and threw the QTR MLE plate on the GMC. Get alot of "That's a cool plate", and "Do you wanna sell it?". My dad said it was a good incentive to get back on the strip... so here I am building a '39 Desoto?

Back in the early 80's while going to college, I had a job delivering photofinishing to camera stores. One day on the freeway, I saw a Ford Granada with the following plate: LUVA BJ.

A friend of mine's wife's gynecologist had the following plate on his 911: BOX DOC.

I couldn't believe the DMV let those guys get those plates!! Too funny!!

Used to go to this donut shop every morning and meet up with 6-8 other guys. This older guy used to pull up front with a tag the said AMWTISF. Not wanting to show how curious we were we waited about a month before we asked. Here is what it means.

I had MOTRF on my BMW motorcycle. It was actually innocent enough. I used to be a bicycle race referee. On the road we used motorcycles to get around the riders (peloton). We could get through when cars couldn't. The plate stands for Motorcycle Referee. I was at a race one time and was asked how I got that through PennDOT. I said no problem. The guy said it looks like it says Mother F**k.

  14. Either the state has figured it out or there is at least one Deloris Telescope fan still out there, because the website says this one isn't available.

Here is a couple of mine. The plates I have on my garage wall was a set of samples made by the prison to be used as a color choice when the Street Rod plate went thru in Idaho in 82. The green and white plate is what we were told we had to use and later it was changed to the RWB style. Here is a shot of that plate on my 40 pickup.
The currant design has a C in front of the number and we are to have another change to plates that will not have the raised letters as soon as the stock runs out of the currant design. That will be several years because they printed several hundred of them back when.

So my first choice was OLD SCHOOL or some turn on that combo. Couldn't get that so this was my second choice.

My buddy had these on his '66 Mustang when they changed the plate design here in Mo. So we stuck one on his drag car which I wound up with and refused to give the plate back. He has the new style plates on his '66 still and I have the old on my shop wall.

Had VETTDRM (Vette dream) on the Vette for about 5 years until the joke got old; now have 31 MPG as a put down to the econobox drivers who only get 24 mpg while the LS1 really will get 31 on the freeway.
