My daughter has been helping out on the coupe a little. She seems to work about as much as I do so she doesnt get in the garage much with me. So any way we went down to the machine shop today to drop off my driveshaft. On the way home she mentions that she wants to start getting into racing. I felt my heart swell and a little tear dropped from my eye...I explained to her that nothing in the world would make me happier, what better way for family bonding. So I said Id start her out in a G***er. I thought of my old Morris I had that I heard could be rebought, cheap. The short wheelbase would make it a handfull I think but if she is willing to learn to drive it and respect it why not. Immediatley thoughts of a nice little 283 and p-glide...she wrinkled her nose at the thought of the auto...she wants a 4 gear in it, another tear wells up. Maybe she does pay attention after all. So enuff of this ranting if ya got some pics lets see them. [IMG]

That's FANTASTIC. How long 'til she can drive? I can't find any pics of g***ers, but this is a neat shot of how to deal with under hood clearance.

I drove by the old Morris the other day, he pulled it out of the rest of the car cluster. I dont know if he has plans for it but if you want it you`d better strike quick because it`s in full view from the road!

Greezy, that is cool as hell...
A couple months ago, I was hanging out at my friend's house and her relatives were in town. One of her cousins, who I hadn't seen in a few years, just turned 16 and will be getting her license soon. Apparently, her and her father have been hard at work restoring HER '65 Mustang. She couldn't really tell me a whole lot about it, but damn, it's cool enough to find a girl (or anyone from the younger generation) that even respects old stuff, even cooler when they want to be involved in its resurrection.

    Congrats.

Yeah Im lucky I guess, when i was ***embling the engine I guided her in installing the valve train and had her set the valves. Fired the motor and ran the cam in last weekend, runs pretty damn good.

Greezy, you've prolly seen my brother's 61 Morris sedan a million times on this board...in case ya missid it, here 'tis again....406 SBC, Opel GT front crossmember and suspension, 2X4 box tubing frame with kickups front and rear. 'Glide with trans brake and a 8.75 MoPar rear with 3.91's, full spool and Dutchman axle shafts. Best ET is 10.33 at 126. He's also got a real cherry Morris pickup for sale for a measly $750 with good ***le...comes with Maxda Rx7 ****le and a 5 speed with alternator and starter etc etc......would make a primo mini-Willys pickup g***er...

  21. Instead of startin' a new thread I'll just ask here because it's sort of along the same lines. Above someone mentioned using an Opel front end. The question is, has anyone ever seen anything done with an Opel Rally? I had two of them, a '68 and a '70 and they were a hell of a little car, especially the '70 with the 102 hp 1900 motor. I also had a '68 wagon. If this stuff can be done with a Morris I just can't imagine what could be done with a Opel Rally.
