NO info for ya but that thing is cool.....

  5. Bothering, like you're now on a "mission" to find it (say yes;)). Or bother, like you wish you never read this thread?:D

  6. Instead of BOTH intake and exhaust on the same side of the head (stock), the intake's on one side, and the exhaust exits the other side, like a crossflow

    Learn something new everyday. Thanks.

  8. PS- it allows for bigger ports (in both directions) due to less crowding

  9. looking in my mags as well.

Also eliminates heat transfer from the exhaust through what would invariabley be a common wall in spots between int & ex ports if it wasn't crossflow.

Better mixture control (cylinder to cylinder) and the ability to build a tuned exhaust if you wanted to, as the Jimmy (and the Chevy) had 3 intake ports and 4 exhaust ports where the manifolds bolted to the head, with clamps (yes still 12 valves and 6 cylinders ).

Definetly the ultimate mod for a Jimmy :D.

Orange all the way. I'm normally not a raving fan of Deuces as they're such a ******* cliche car, but that is ****ing neat. The built Jimmy 6 is great too. Inlines rock.

Orange, but with some monster flake.:D

Or some 'chineese red' (safety oreange, mandarin red, tangerine, whatever) with flake.

  14. That old photo looks like it was taken with a fish eye lens or something, think that is what makes the chop look different?

  15. Is THAT what everybody's comments are about:confused:? I was thinking, WTF are they looking at when saying it looks un-chopped? So, it's a comparison between the black and orange pics that's generating these comments?

I dunno about anyone else, but WOW! That thing looks mean. I was skeptical about the straight 6, till I read your description. Even better as it is quite unique.

Congratulations on owning a VERY nice car!

    same body....you guys are kooks.

look at the size of the front wheels in the orange pic....they look 4ft tall....just some pic distortion.

cant help with history man....but from seeing your other stuff...car found the right owner....just kinda fits.

  19. Oh man, that's awesome. So, this car's a local to me (Simi Valley's 15 miles away). Good to know. I just looked through my stack of those, and don't have THAT issue. Would you consider selling/trading it to me? Thank you for looking and posting your find. Any color shots, so I can duplicate?

I remember that exact issue actually (the cover at least). I think it is still in my parents ba*****t.

That pic proves that the car doesn't deserve to be flat black. So *****in...

No, the lime gold sounds cool if its got lots of metal flake. I just meant orange is better than the generic black it is now.:)

    Groucho,
I guess you'll be hitting the magazine guy up at Pomona or the next Long Beach swapmeet.

How is the steering set up to have the cowl steering so low? Do you have any pics?

  24. No, I don't have any pics, and the car's inaccessible for a while, so I can focus on building my 38. Sorry

  25. I knew I'd seen it in a magazine but I don't have that issue any more. It was bugging me trying to remember. I too think I saw it in some nostalgia drags coverage.

  26. I've got a ton of old magazines myself. I just don't know where to start:confused:
