Ok, so heres my sedan again! I finished alot of things over the last year and Im ready to start my project! The first thing I want to do is to see what the ride height looks like in person, not just on photoshop. I cut the legs of my body support to exactly 6" off the ground. Youll see the 1" thick support framing running under the doors, but Im not counting that in my clearance measurement. Its 6" from the bottom of the doors to the ground, 5" from the bottom of the support frame to the ground.

I mocked up stuff to see what the stance could look like. I put three cans to simulate the three carb stacks on my six pack. The headlights wont be on the ground like that, I just set them there to get a feel of the front, you know.

The wheelbase is 124". The Ranchero is 110" and the '79 chevy truck is 136". So its inbetween a compact and full size. Pretty decent wheelbase for being a 4 door! I imagined it being much longer.

The plastic mock motor is a SBC that I had laying around, just to get a feel of the layout. Ill be running my 440 RB/727 with a six pack and scratch built headers. And Ill most likely run 10.5 WWW Hurst cheater slicks in the rear with a radius and mini tub, leaving 1" of tread on the outside and 9.5 in the tub. Ill see how it goes as I get closer to that. I need a 9" rear and a frontend set up next and then Ill be fabbing a frame for it. The interior is a secret ;)

Anyways, as I do stuff to it, Ill post here if anyone wants to check it out. Im excited! Its my first hand built rod :) 2009 is gonna be a good year!

You sure that thing isn't a limo?? :D You got a lot of room between the rear door and the tire, that'll be really cool to be able to utilize the rear door also!!

Keep us posted, it's gonna look cool!!

Cool car. It will be a sweet ride when it is done. I have a 28 Dodge coupe so it is always cool to see another Dodge project.

Not try to step on your six-pack but, that 440 would be the cats-ass with a cross ram!

Thanks a lot everyone! Yea, I dont plan on chopping it. I was contemplating it before, but it was because I couldnt really see what it would look like at this stance. Now That I see the wheel base and stance, I think a chop would make it look too "long". Plus, the tranny is going to be channeled heavy into the floorboards. Course, the 727 is a nice smooth sleek tranny, not too overly large for what it gives out.
Once I get some constant income flowing again, Ill be workin this baby over. I already put the bear latches in the doors a while back..

    Keep thinking SCRUB LINE.
A neat 4door which IS really a 4door where all the doors function.

Elcornus, looks like a sweet ride you have! looks pretty solid!
It for sure is a 1927. That allpar.com doesnt show all models of each year. on the dodge brothers club link you attached, go to the "next" car after that one. Thats my model, a 124B model. The rear quarter window has the same size opening as the two doors. The 26 and 27 are almost identical, if not unchanged.

Check this out, I have a re-issue of the original 1927 Parts list book for all dodge models. The book is huge and has lots of really cool stuff in it. Like I have every measurement for all the windows of any model. Now that is handy! Anyways, check out the 4door in the interior illustration, thats my ride! Pretty cool to see it all together like that. I have that rad wrap around front bench too, it was made pretty solid!
